Laura,
Good luck with the Rocephin. 3 weeks is standard insurance coverage. If you seem to be helped by it, I would try for much longer.
Do you have a LLMD? Who is treating you? Chances are you will need much longer treatment if mino did nothing. You also need to follow up with IM or oral meds after Rocephin. If not, there is a high probability of relapse.
Good Luck, and speedy healing to you!

Laura,
Im glad you are able to get on IV Rocephin. I was bedridden and very ill at the time, and I believe it was a God send to save my life.
During the IV I was very tired, but once it was completed I noticed the progress that had been made.
I agree with Feelfit, it would be good to followup with orals afterwards, especially antibiotics that are considered macrolides and others that will attack the Cyst form of Lyme to prevent relapse.

Laura,
Everyone has their own opinion and not everyone reacts to each of the protocols the same.
Having said that; our daughter did Rocephin IV push via a PICC line for almost 2 years.
We are convinced that it was the one antibiotic that got her "over the hump" so to speak.
Her herx were heavy, finding the money to pay for the abx was a challenge and the constant maintenance of the line, etc was not all that easy, however, I'm convinced that if you asked her she would do it all again.
United Health Care of California picked up the initial 90 days of treatment, after that it was all out-of-pocket.
You need to keep us all informed of your progress because there are many here who will help in ways you can't imagine, if you have to keep the line and bear the cost.
God Bless You

Ok the line is in and I have had 2 doses so far waiting on my dose for the day. Dr. put the line in my right hand so have to have help giving myself the iv because I am clumsy with left hand. I appreciate all the help and I can tell by all the post that this will be a diificult task anyway. I am finacailly strapped already been out of work for over a year now trying for diabilty been turned down and have sent in an appeal.
Now this I have bills due and mostly trying to pay for my private ins which so far has paid for thing I need. I have Ra also and have been on Biologics for several years now and have not had to pay a dime of that. I would hate to loose my ins but it has been close at times. I am grateful for the insurance though. Well got to run get hooked up. I hope for good day for everyone.Laura
