Has anyone tried this supplement? Another poster mentioned it a week ago. It's supposed to triple NK activity (perhaps raise CD-57). It's expensive though.

It's purportedly backed by studies. I found one below.

Modified arabinoxylan rice bran (MGN3/Biobran) enhances intracellular killing of microbes by human phagocytic cells in vitro.

Anyone? [confused]

Zippo? Well, I may try it and I will report back. My CD-57 has been consistently low so I'll know if it does something.

More studies:

The brand name compound is expensive but there are some cheaper versions by Now Foods and Source Naturals...if you look under~~~>RBAC (Rice Bran Arabinoxylan Compound)

Thanks for interesting information, albeit it does induce tnf alpha and IL-6 , I am not too sure its a positive thing since it is inflammatory response and it seems in many cases inflammation contributes a lot to damage.

But phagocytosis is important for killing intracellular pathogens (albeit in some studies it shows that even phagocytosis does not destroy some pathogens when cell is killed- they actually just get released into the wild)

Yes, very true, Coltman. I was holding out some hope that it may help boost CD-57. Though controversial, I think having low levels may play a small part in relapse, especially if lyme is the essential infectious issue.
