Hi everyone,

I'm pretty new here. Nice to meet all of you! I'll try to keep this brief.

I have Lyme, HME, Bartonella, and active HHV-6 and mycoplasma pneumoniae infections. Also several other serious health problems.

Right now I'm on IV Rocephin. I take Transfer Factor, Samento, and OLE. Not sure what to do next and could use your collective wisdom!

I'd rather not use Levaquin for Bart. Has anyone here used Zithro (IV or PO) for Bartonella?

Has anyone used Valtrex or Valcyte (IV or PO) for HHV-6?

Has anyone used Zithro or Levaquin for Mycoplasma?

Interested in your experiences and advice. Thank you in advance!!

Leigh

Leigh, I used Zithro (PO) and did not tolerate it as it can cause an increase in GI motility and there is nothing you can do but stop the drug when this happens. I have a friend on Zithro though and it works great for her with minimal side effects compared to some of the other 'heavy hitters'. Good luck.

Thanks for letting me know. I would be using the IV form (I have atrophic gastritis and malabsorption and have to take lots of meds for other problems), so fortunately for me the GI effects would be minimized.

Were you using the Zithro for Bart, or as combo therapy for Lyme/mycoplasma? Just wondering....thanks again.

Leigh I have used valcyte. My story can be found here: http://hhv6foundation.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=antiviral&action=display&thread=39

You will need to sign in to read the posts. Others have posted in that thread and other threads.
