Is there any way to increase this?

Besides lying on my bed with my head hanging off the edge?

I feel like we need a good supply of blood to the brain (duh!)... but so the abx's and herbs in our blood stream can reach the neuro-lymers.

Any supps or other ideas for this?

Exercise and a lot of deep breathing. Works every time.

Have you been diagnosed by a PET or SPECT with hypoperfusion?

Simple gentle exercise may be helpful but aerobic exercise can make is worse if the cause is hypoperfusion - or if active infection is involved. Aerobics are not to be done during active infection.

But even Tai Chi or Qi Gong exercises, while gentle, increase circulation.

It's best to talk to your doctor about what is best for you.

There is a description of a PET or SPECT Scan at 24 hours and 48 hours after aerobic exercise and it was much worse for the patient:

Topic: To everyone with cardiac symptoms please read!

===========

I thought that was posted at that thread but I don't see it now. It was from the Nightingale Foundation. I'll look elsewhere.

I did find this, though, in that thread above:

Dr. A. Martin Lerner: " . . . Viral infection persists in the heart, causing left-ventricular dysfunction, producing exercise intolerance.

. . . "Exercise, in turn, worsens the cardiac dysfunction. "

Anything that thins the blood will increase blood flow to the brain as will it the rest of your body.

Rx- warafin
heparin

Natural- Serrapeptase
Lumbrokinase

Recht's Regulat
Boluoke

In the book, The Clinical and Scientific Basis of Myalgic Encephalomyeltis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

authors: Byron M. Hyde, M.D., Jay Goldstein, M.D.
and Paul Levine, M.D.

The Nightingale Research Foundation reprinted
p. vii which shows three sets of SPECT scans. (1993, I think.)

Taken in resting, post-exercise and 24 hours post-exercise, the images show an immediate post-exercise effect with perfusion and

``illustrate the severely decreased brain perfusion of the same patient 24 hours after the brain has been stressed by physical exercise."

This is a most remarkable piece of paper. You can see the marked impact upon the brain in the nine photos from the SPECT.

I can't find a copy of the page on the web, but you could request a copy from the Nightingale Research Foundation at

http://www.nightingale.ca/

Dr. Goldstein, Addendum I, shows common stress pathways, and might also be available upon request.

-----

"decreased brain perfusion" is the same as "hypoperfusion" where the blood flow is either not even throughout or not as it should be.

Keebler,

No I haven't. I decided a long time ago that I'm done with tests.

In fact my LLMD wanted an MRI and I never went lol

Treat Lyme - learn some tidbits from this website on the way - remission from Lyme : )

^^ That's my plan

Thanks djf-

In addition to rechts regulat, enzymes, and those other things mentioned above, you can use Huperzine A.

An ND friend of mine recommends taking hydrogen peroxide oraly(use only food grade and dilute it way down), then invert using a slant board or inversion table. Stay inverted for about 5-10 minutes.

This REALLY gets oxygen into the brain!!

He uses this to help reverse autism, recommending doing it several times a day.

Hope this helps!

Best,

Cass A

Niacin- if you can tolerate the flush. Up to 5 grams/day. Start with 100-500mg/ day and increase as tolerated- till desired effect achieved. Use with caution if liver enzymes high- it can elevate them. Dr. Hoffer used it for depression and other mental illness. Causes a flush- increases circulation to brain, etc- helps to circulate abx and with detox. Some peole get heart palps with niacin. Niacinamide is a good alternative- no flush but still inproves cerebral blood flow, depression, etc.
I've heard that no flush niacin is bad for the liver. Google niacin + Hoffer.
Regards, Paul
I'm not a doctor- just passing along info [Smile]

Well, after that E.R. trip yesterday, and since I have bartonella, I think I might as well get a SPECT scan done.

I've probably reached my deductable now, so I should be covered 100%. I hate my insurance company too, and I would like them to lose more money on me. They call themselves a non-profit organization. Ha! What a joke.
