yeck...i had tons of those a couple of years ago.

i mean i would dig them out the size of a dime sometimes. i mean huge....

lately tho it seems i don't have any.

you are talking about those really foul smelling kind of solid white things that lodge on the inside of your mouth, right?

I don't know what causes them, but I had them for a spell and they went away. Occasionally, I will get one.

When they were pronounced, I took one in a tissue to my ENT.

He called them bacterial balls. Yea Randi, they don't smell too good. They are bacteria, that's why.

Is that what you are referring to Dawn?

If so, maybe have him chew his food more completely, and gargle with mouth wash as far back as he can.

I don't think it's life threatening, but something causes it. Maybe diet, or food chewing and digestion.

The largest mine was was a little bigger then a pea. Usually, smaller.

From another thread (not about this particular topic) - I bet this will help:

Jason brand. It is called "Healthy mouth". It has GSE and Tea tree oil and some other natural antibacterial/antifungal herbs in it. It does not have any alcohol so it won't dry your mouth out. It tastes good too.

. . . had a weird black furry fungal patch that was growing on the back of my tongue. 2wks of Nystatin liquid and Diflucan did not work. The "healthy mouth" mouth wash took care of the problem in just a couple days.

Thanks, guys. Yep, those are exactly the things he is chucking out of his mouth- smelly, hard nodules coming from the tonsil area.

Keebler, thanks for the "Healthy Mouth" suggestion. We'll definitely be buying it, as he said he saw it posted elsewhere, too.

You know those curved pointed syringes you get from the oral surgeon after wisdom teeth removal? I saved one (the syringe, not the teeth ;-). Maybe squirting some of the mouthwash and saline sol'n right into the area with some force behind would help.

He's pretty grossed out by them and by the stench. After the stuff we Lymies have seen in and out of our bodies, it's kind of funny to me that he goes pale when he looks at one of them. He also squirms like a worm when he has to get his blood pressure taken and having his blood drawn is an experience. I have a very sick sense of humor, poking at my poor hubby. [loco]

Here's a thread on another forum about this (it will take a LONG while to load, the site is really slow):

My daughter had those terrible. Removed her tonsils and they have never come back. It was worth the opereration. No more sore throats either. Suggested by her ENT.
