Just taking a poll on how many are actually symptom free when they decide to go off antibiotics?

That is a tough question.
I was in remission last summer.
Mostly (95%) symptom free with the very occasional air hunger, joint pain, headache.
I always look at it as quality versus quantity.
Compared to my life prior to diagnosis and treatment....
Quality wins by a landslide.

Let's hope they are!! I had a few lingering symptoms when I quit abx. I've been off abx for 5 yrs now and doing well.

Thinking my lil one is starting to have a few symptoms occasionally. Just keeping an eye on him right now, am there with Geneal...quality is most important, so far that is winning. : )

Thanks everyone for your input it seems everyone still has some symptoms so it's hard to know when to stop. I was told that I had to go 4 weeks symptom free before being considered cured (or in remission). That almost seems impossible.

I think it is impossible too. I think there are some symptoms that are going to linger due to various reasons such as damage or due to other things besides the infections such as thryoid or adrenal issues or whatever it may be.
I have been off for a few months. Those lingering things are getting better through time not worse. I think it is as my body adjust to the new environment .. This is though after being sick for over 10 years and that is another variable.
For me I think it is to be expected and I do not believe or have chosen to stay on abx til I am "symptom" free totally.
Like you said. again I think that is near impossible and rare but depends on situations and people and cases...
Go with your gut and feeling on this and no one set rule.
We are all too different to do that

If you're looking to get into long-term remission, you must be treated for at least 3 to 4 months beyond the date of your last symptom of LD & co's.
That is based on a scientific understanding of the long life cycle of the stealth spirochetes.
As long as you still have symptoms, you're still infected with something, reacting to toxins, etc. Treatment shouldn't end when you're still ill.
If you suffer from thyroid or adrenal gland function problems, that's likely due to the spirochete invasion. As long as you have weakened body systems, you will be vulnerable to relapse.

My concern is that I always feel worse after I take the abx. Everyday I get up feeling okay but after I take them everything gets worse. I have tried different abx with the same result.
