Hi,

My daughter has had issues since she was born - mostly seemed to be ADD. But now I am wondering, since I am having some symptoms which could be Lyme or MS (lesions on MRI and neurological issues).

My 13yo has:
- bipolar II, anxiety and ADD
- dizziness on standing
- frequent headaches
- previously lots of issues with nausea
- very disorganized, cannot tolerate stress
- sensitive to sounds, heat/cold
- frequent ear infections and colic as baby

Can kids be born with Lyme? I guess I should get her tested w/Igenex, right?

Thanks for the insights,
Misty

I would have her tested.

Also, check this out - http://www.drrandy.org/article.html

I had lots of infections prior to Lyme exposure and think the underlying KPU/pyroluria had something to do with it.

For you, if it is MS, it still could be Lyme. MS has to be caused by something.

The simple answer is yes children can be born with Lyme.

I've read a couple of Dr. J in New Haven cases where he has treated a few. He is probably a little over a 2 hr drive from Worcester.

Dr. M, less experienced but will also treat children is appx. a 1 hr drive.

Considering the false negatives with blood testing the only way to tell is with trial and error with drug treatments.

The negatives are it can take weeks / months b/4 one sees results and with side effects and support for drugs.

Good luck.

Sounds very much like lyme. My children had all of the same issues and are doing very well with treatment! Yes, they can be born with lyme. Read, "Everything you ever wanted to know about Lyme Disease" by karen Vanderoof- forschner.

The good news is that these symptoms can go away with treatment! But it takes a long time.

I have heard Dr. M in Glastonbury, CT is good.

Misty many LLMD's can tell you if you have Lyme before antibody/antigen testing.

Many kids will not test positive until after a challenge of antibiotics.

Something to think about if you decide to test before seeing Dr.
