I had my first visit in Aug with Dr C. He started me on clinda/quinine for 10 days and rotate to Biaxin/plaquenil for 10. I did a round of both but was sick more than not. I could not tolerate the quinine at all! My ears rang so bad after just 2 days of 1 a day. I called and they said stop all and start Zithro 250mg 2x day. What do I need to know about this drug? I decided to take a few days off before starting it.

I wouldn't be too worried, I doubt zithro will hit you like quinine did.
You should read the wikipedia article on quinine-very difficult to tolerate.
This was posted a while ago but i found it informative:

JS, that first protocol sure sounds familiar. The good ole' Dr. C Babs treatment. I too struggled with Quinine and the dosing used is baby amounts compared to IDSA recommendations, BUT the duration is longer i believe. In general, it's a hard drug. Didn't do anything for me for Babesia. Too short of a treatment.
I think you'll have Zith better at the doses used.
