Ok-- Saw Dr S in NJ back on Nov 6th (true to the replies I received in PMs, he is very quiet and does not talk a lot, but I liked him and more importantly he took my symptoms seriously.

I can also confirm that his office staff is wonderful and that the wait to see him is very short-- I waited less than 5 minutes to see him after filling out first visit paperwork).

He ordered tests for Bb and co-infections. Said based on my symptoms he believed Lyme and Babs.Sent me on my way to await Igenex results with a December 9th follow up.

Of course over the next 4 weeks (no meds or treatment) I started to feel better (after several months of feeling like garbage).

Not great, mind you, but I could stay awake past 9 at night, the foggy headedness, headaches, vertigo, and nausea were all gone (and my associated anxiety about something being seriously wrong with me along with it).

I also didn't feel as weak. Still had the pain in my right lower back and around my lower rib cage in the front that I've had since summer, so I was confident I still had something going on.

Dec 9th follow up: Igenex results as follows

WB IGM: 41 kDa Ind (was reactive in October Quest lab WB)
all other bands -

WB IGA: 39 kDa Ind (non-reactive in Oct Quest)
41 kDa +++ (non-reactive in Oct Quest)
all other bands -

In October my Quest WB showed a reactive IGM 23kDa, but nothing this time.

Babs and Bart were negative as was ANA, EBV, and Rheum Factor.

So, Dr S reaffirmed he believed Lyme and Babs were present. Started me on 200mg of doxy a day.

Said he wanted to see me back in a month and will get more aggressive with treatment from there depending on my symptom changes and reaction to the meds.

I started treatment last Wednesday. By Sunday, my headaches were back and I'm feeling worse-- back to feeling occasionally foggy headed, nauseous, and fatigued-- which I'm hoping is a sign of Herxing??

So anyway, that's my story up until now. Sorry for the novel. Just looking for feedback, affirmation, comments, or whatever you have to offer!

Thanks!

Is he going to do a challenge western blot after a certain length of antibiotic treatment?

Doxy made me VERY nauseous!!!!! If I didn't eat a lot of food with it, I was dry heaving and/or vomiting.

Band 41 is the flagella/tail of some kind of spirochete, so even if it's not Lyme, you have something in you that doesn't belong there.

Kill it!!!

OH, Make SURE you are watching your diet and taking plenty of probiotics!

and as hambone said... take doxy with plenty of food! Do not lie down for at LEAST 30 min after taking it.

Ok-- Thanks for the advise. He recommended acidophilus so I've been taking that since I started the doxy.

So far the nausea just comes in short waves, same as before I started the doxy. Nothing worse, yet...
