I just posted it on General not seeing it here.
Alex put up a long and hard fight. Having Lyme, Myco, Bart and other things along with it.
She was only 3 days older than my oldest who has Lyme and co.
May God bless and comfort her family. Praise Him that she is now free from the pain and fear.

It's heartbreaking that she suffered for so long. I wanted so much for her to pull through and completely recover. At least now she is free of sickness. We should keep her family in our prayers as they are surely missing her terribly right now.

So did she have lyme or not? No one knows if her illness was lyme induced? Did she herx on antibiotics?

This is terribly sad, I didn't know Alex or of her story until now but it's is just so sad.

Yes, as Bea noted above, Alex did have Lyme, Bart, and a few other diagnoses. However they never knew what caused her to lose the use of her body, completely. Such a sad story.

I haven't quit crying since I read her website and story. Alex was the same age as my daughter who struggles with Lyme.

I remember when cries for help first went out for Alex.
I place blame if I may with the CDC/IDSA for the lies and failures to protect the people by giving them the tools and information to find and treat.
And so very thankful that there are now thousands who are fighting for change to try as we may
to prevent this from happening anymore in our kids.
The CDC/IDSA/USDA were holding hands for profits--by giving cattle a tick vaccine made from the saliva of ticks for over 10 yrs.
And they did not care what the antigens did and even admitted they did not know and it was ignored by all in the circles of life they professed we need.

Losing Alex shook me up very much. Her mom Lori came into my life when I opened my Caringbridge site for my own IV treatment. Alex's twin sister is named Jaci they were extremely close.
As someone else said, Uncle Mike is the one that use to post on Lymenet, although I do recall that Lori had atleast scanned here a few times in the past.
I can't even imagine the pain of losing your 17 year old daughter. No parent should ever have to bury a child.
