She was so young! This is so sad. [Frown]

What a horrible struggle she had. My heart goes out to her family. I pray they have the strength to go on.

Will check the link in a bit. Thanks for posting this, Bea.

It's heartbreaking that she suffered for so long. I wanted so much for her to pull through and completely recover. At least now she is free of sickness. We should keep her family in our prayers as they are surely missing her terribly right now.

How terribly sad. What was her screen name? I'm wondering if I knew her. Very, very sad news.

My heart and prayers go out to her family.

Tammy,

Alex herself did not post on LymeNet I am pretty sure. Her uncle Mike used to post though.

Yes, as Bea noted above, Alex did have Lyme, Bart, and a few other diagnoses. However they never knew what caused her to lose the use of her body, completely. Such a sad story.

Rest in peace dear one...

I remember when cries for help first went out for Alex.

I place blame if I may with the CDC/IDSA for the lies and failures to protect the people by giving them the tools and information to find and treat.

And so very thankful that there are now thousands who are fighting for change to try as we may

to prevent this from happening anymore in our kids.

The CDC/IDSA/USDA were holding hands for profits--by giving cattle a tick vaccine made from the saliva of ticks for over 10 yrs.

And they did not care what the antigens did and even admitted they did not know and it was ignored by all in the circles of life they professed we need.

--------------------------------------------
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21211038
-a cow walking around with 121 different kinds of bacteria including Wolbachia-Dengue/Coxiella-Q Fever/Borrelia-MCIDS

They conducted these studies because they would not culture---

the same thing has happened in humans and is why we now have Autism being diagnosed at rates of 1@4mins., Alzheimers of 1@hr. , and MS at 1@min.

Now you must know they have also been giving this vaccine made from the saliva of these same ticks and as such are now suspected of transmitting borrelia-the most stealthy pathogen known to man.

And they should not have made any tick vaccines and in their arrogance have spread it around in humans and animals-including all of its proteins..

No more than they have been able to for its little sister Syphilis.
http://journals.cambridge.org/action/displayAbstract?fromPage=online&aid=1298808

With the discovery of even more proteins they cannot shut it off just as in syphilis which is why to this day we still don't and won't ever have one and the persons responsible should go to jail...

Commercial tick vaccines for cattle based on the -(cattle tick)-Boophilus microplus Bm86 gut antigen have proven to be a feasible tick control method that offers a cost-effective, environmentally friendly alternative to the use of acaricides.-------((((((It is made from ticks, and they have proven the protein cannot be shut off.))))) There is no reason to believe if they cannot find the antigens now they could not and cannot find the proteins then!!!!

Commercial tick vaccines reduced tick infestations on cattle and the intensity of acaricide usage, as well as increasing animal production and reducing transmission of some tick-borne pathogens.
Although commercialization of tick vaccines has been difficult

owing to previous constraints of antigen discovery,

the expense of testing vaccines in cattle,

and company restructuring,

the success of these vaccines over the past decade

has clearly demonstrated their potential as an improved method of tick control for cattle.

-----------------------------------------------
http://www.mgel.msstate.edu/tick.htm
Rhipicephalus microplus------ (formerly Boophilus microplus) ---------is the most economically-important tick parasite of livestock in the world. Commonly known as the cattle tick, R. microplus has numerous hosts including cattle, deer, buffalo, horses, dogs, pigs, donkeys, goats, and sheep. High level tick infestations decrease the fecundity of parasitized animals and damage host hides. Moreover, R. microplus is a vector for a number of endoparasites including the protozoans causing bovine babesiosis, the most damaging arthropod-borne disease of cattle.

AU was just one of the countries that used the vaccine....AU supplies McDonalds with most of their beef for international trade. Brazil and the US are 2 more.
---------------------------------------
http://nar.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/content/full/gkp027#SEC5
The present studies extended characterization of the B. burgdorferi EbfC protein,

demonstrating that this small protein both specifically and

nonspecifically binds DNA,

can bind DNA independently of context

and alters DNA conformation.
The organisms they have challenged with the protein so far bear no resistance to the folding of the protein...
---------------------------------------------------
Please be aware that every country that can is working on this sans AU--no surprise---but AU does have many law suits forthcoming by citizens who have found borrelia by testing in other countries.

http://www.karlmcmanusfoundation.org.au/ Karl Mc Manus died because AU refused his Lyme diagnosis and refused to treat with antibiotics.

Prayers to the families and hopes they know they are not alone.

Losing Alex shook me up very much. Her mom Lori came into my life when I opened my Caringbridge site for my own IV treatment. Alex's twin sister is named Jaci they were extremely close.

As someone else said, Uncle Mike is the one that use to post on Lymenet, although I do recall that Lori had atleast scanned here a few times in the past.

I can't even imagine the pain of losing your 17 year old daughter. No parent should ever have to bury a child.

Bea listed her Caringbridge page in the first note, so I won't repost it. This was an amazing family and I know they still would love to hear your heart felt messages on her above site.
