I have diverticulosis now (It's been slowly creeping up)

I have a hunch that Bartonella is behind it all!

What do you guys think?
I've been off antibiotics for 9 months and didn't have this issue until Bart started flaring up about 5 months ago.

Now it's really bad and I worry my bart treatment (herbs) is insufficient.

Just bumping this up for now, as I recently had a colonoscopy.

Any articles on bartonella and this condition?

Diverticulosis is caused by chronic dysmotility in the colon. Yes, Bartonella can be one cause of this.

A high fiber diet is good for those with diverticulosis (be careful with nuts/seeds - grind them up in a coffee grinder or blender first before eating them), as is coconut oil (coconut oil contains short-chain fatty acids that help nourish and heal the lining of the colon).

Omega-3 fatty acids (Fish Oil) are also excellent to help combat inflammation.

"Bell's Palsy of the Gut" mentions that Lyme/co's can cause megacolon. Megacolon is the end result of severe, chronic constipation. Because Diverticulosis also is a consequence of severe constipation, it stands to reason that Lyme/co's can cause diverticulosis also.

See http://thehumansideoflyme.net/viewarticle.php?aid=62 for the "Bell's Palsy of the Gut" article.
