over 2 months ago I tested CDC positive on a LabCorp Western Blot, IGM positive bands 23 and 41 (IGG negative). After 2 months of doxycycline and a few weeks of azithromycin added in, a retest showed nothing. (Was still on abx while tested). Am I correct that if it is truly Lyme, it would go from positive IGM to positive IGG? Feeling so frustrated and scared. Wondering if my neuro symptoms are something else. Any advice appreciated. I head back to the dr next week. Thanks! gracefullyteaching (symptoms for 9 months, no evidence of bite/rash, started with light headedness, panic attacks at night)

No, it would not necessarily go from IgM to IgG. More chronic lyme patients have positive IgM's than IgG's.
There's really no need to test again once you are positive. If you're still sick you still treat.
PS .. LabCorp is not a very sensitive lab for Lyme testing.

Were you on abx before the first test? Just curious

My husband had the same results and was cdc positive, took a month of doxy and was then completely negative on both but it was right after a tick bite that was known.
Tested through igenex

miapiaface-- I was not on abx prior to first Westernblot which showed CDC positive. I questioned my dr (not a LLMD but an agressive treater of Lyme, had Burrascano's guildelines in her office), and she said I did not need to be off abx for retest. My next step is to get the Igenex done.

- And don't take antibiotics for at least two weeks prior to testing.

Lyme,
I was abx the second time they did the western blot at Dr R? Two months into abx...He never mentioned stopping them? What will that do if you stop and retest?
