So after finishing a 30 day treatment of iv rocephin on may 13th. i started zith today at 3pm & started herxing within 30min...
I feel soo out of it, feet/ ankles are killin me, starting to have that echoing when i talk again, ears ringing real loud, hands are killing me, bad headaches...
Now i know the feet pain are popular bart symptos.. Does it sound like the zith is hitting bart right now?? & maybe my neuro lyme at the same time?

I had same reaction to zithro....I lasted two months and it was not a herx just the abx cause it never stopped. The ear issues are huge and you have ot be so careful with zitrho since it can permanently damage the balance areaa and hearing.
I was take off of it due to this reason. They gave me rifampin for bartonella and that was a herx...so severe that my body was out of control. EVery nerve went wild but it took abaout three days before it started happening. My LLMD stopped the rifampin after 2 pills but the herx continued for 3 weeks, the worst was the third to seventh day where I could barely breathe and tembled head to toe. It also did not allow even one hour of sleep..total sleep disruption. I was on omnicef with both at the saem time.

The foot pain sounds like bart but the ear stuff sounds like a reaction to zithro. Macrolides are used with Rifampin to fight bart. I don't know how effective they would be alone.

The tinnitus was bad with zithro, at night I was going crazy from the noise.
I had bad muscle pain in my thighs and knee finger pain after takign it. I seemed to hurt everywhere. I took if for two months not realizing I shoudl stop it due to my hearing.
At my next visit I mentioned the ringning and fading hearing, or weird hearing things. I could not stand my own voice in my head!! He stopped it right away in fear of permanent hearing loss and vertigo.It is known for hearing problems.
