Every thing I read says Lyme hides from your immune system, changes structure, replicates to look like your own white blood cells. This seems like a never ending battle that is impossible to win. I know some people get better but maybe their circumstances are just right.

I feel this way too right now. It just seems like even if you get a little better any stress will knock you right back down. And I believe stress is just a part of life especially when you have kids...

I think even after remission you will need to continue to support immune function as well as any other lingering issues. So, yes, in my opinion you will continue treating forever. Those who slack off after remission will subject themselves to a possible relapse.

i've heard of people being on abx for six and more years.
no way could i do that. sometimes it's just not worth it. my system could never tolerate that.

For me, no improvement after 2 years of IV abx pretty much says it all...basically, I don't have a chance of getting well without something miraculous happening.

I am losing all hope here. Seems like I just can't win the battle and so tired now.
