I was just diagnosed with lyme in April and started abx on April 7th. My symptoms were never really debilitating and I was able to just suck it up and go about my life for the most part.
My biggest problem prior to the abx was trouble swallowing and speaking and fatigue and weight loss. I had other symptoms but overall I would have given them a 5 out of 10 on a scale of 1-10 in terms of how bad I felt or how much of a hindrance they were.
I actually felt a bit better after starting abx and supplements. I had more energy and could think clearer. My problems with swallowing have also become a minor occurrence.
Well, yesterday I was at work and felt okay until about 4pm. All of a sudden I had extreme fatigue and it would take everything in me to just stand up. I kept getting this overwhelming need to have to sit down. My body felt like jello. I had sharp, shooting pains in my back and chest...dizzy and couldn't really walk. I felt off balance. I just felt like crap!
This is new for me and I actually felt worse than I ever have in the past! I'm still feeling very tired today too. I just don't have the energy to get up out of bed. I think I'm just gonna lay here all day.
Is this normal? To feel so much worse than before I even started abx? I've had no change in meds or supps. I was actually going to start GSE today but am thinking I will hold off.

Sounds like a herx to me. The only way out is through. Keep doing what you are doing!

Yes, it does sound like a possible herx. I agree, hold off on the GSE until things calm down.

Interesting. I was thinking it may be a herx but wasn't sure. I wonder why it took so long? I've been on abx for 2 months.

It could be a herx, it could also be a heart issue. You should probably have it checked out to be sure.

I don't have heart issues. I had a full workup at the cardiologists office prior to lyme diagnosis because of chest pain, dizziness and palpitations. I also did an EKG and checked my vitals when I developed the pain. All were fine and the pain was also reproducible. Makes me think muscular. And the chest pain wasn't there today.
