Wondering, has anybody resolved their shortness of breath by treating for mycoplasma? I've been treated for Babs on/off since September last year. Have been off everything for about 10 days due to liver numbers. First went off Art, then went off Mepron, then went off Biaxin. Liver numbers were increasing and wouldn't slow up.

Some symptoms are creeping back. I'm not sure though if it's Babs or Mycoplasma. I just got tested for Myco but don't have results yet. I still need to treat Bart.

I have always associated shortness of breath with Babesiosis, not Mycoplasma.

I believe all patients with shortness of breath should see an ENT to make sure there is not something abnormal about their vocal chord motion.

I thought it was babesia but we discovered that my vocal chords are not moving normally, which gives me the sensation of not breathing. This can be caused by a nerve issue which we all know Lyme can cause.
(it's caused me sensory nerve damage in my legs)
It's just one extra thing to rule out. It's not always Babesia.

SOB can also be caused by Bart.

Just got back from LLMD. It's not myco. I still have lyme, babs & bart, oh my, and now strep.

Going on herbals, liver is too toxic. Need liver to hold on so I can treat strep.

I'm so close, yet so far, from being well. I think I'll just go organize all my supplements, take my first magical drop and then cry.

Are you taking milk thistle for your liver? When I was on IV Rocephin, my liver enzymes went up. My llmd told me to take extra milk thistle, and they normalized.

In response and agreement with Backinstolaf - i was also treating babesia for months with no improvement on my suffocating shortness of breath problem. Upon being scoped from the nose down to the throat, i was also diagnosed with Vocal Cord Dysfunction.

Hope this helps someone. Its treatable, hard to cure, but its doable. Acid reducers, control the anxiety, and breathing/voice exercises. I didnt believe it, until i saw on the camera, my vocal cords were slamming shut when i inhaled, which is BAD!

I had air hunger from babesia. I was tested for asthma because my sister is asthmatic and it was discovered I was hyperventilating.

I also had mold exposure which caused a shortness of breath different from that suffocating feeling that the babesia caused.

Six, how can you always so clearly differentiate every symptom, illness, etc. you had? I don't understand. [Smile] Air hunger is vague enough, but you can tell mold breathing problems from Babesia? Heavy metal symptoms from TBIs?

I can't speak for her but for me it comes with years of symptom treating, what works and what doesn't work, what is present and when. I had just never suspected myco so I wasn't sure if it was lurking.

I tend to obsess about every symptom. This isn't my personality, or maybe it is, but after years of suffering and being told it's in my head or giving me some worthless label (i.e. lupus or MS), I'm going to figure it out if it takes my last working brain cell.

:-)
