I have lived with the throbbing and stiff neck and nerves cutting off and severe insomnia etc. for years
now I have double vision, dyslexia, memory loss
no one cares about me I jus got to go to work anyway...
well, I got an LLMD apt Thursday
would you do an MRI? does it help a Lyme patient in anywya? Don't want to do more stupid tests (that could shift my fillings in my teeth??) if they tell nothing that could help me anyway - done enough of those!

I had an MRI for my dizziness and it was normal. However, I do have Bartonella and I believe that is the culprit.
When I was in the MRI machine I had a panic attack (also Bartonella).
I am treating Bartonella with Rifampin currently and my head feels like it could explode with pressure from the throbbing. Bartonella can cause vascular issues and blood issues.
BTW, I was negative based on Igenex testing but I def. have it!

The vision issues are also a Bart symptom.

I'm sorry you are struggling. Babesia also causes the meningeal inflammation. And the insomnia.
We care. I'm glad you have an LLMD appt. Keep us posted. It does get better.
This disease completely sucks.

Does the pain get worse if you try and put your chin to your chest? I had menigitis in 2008 and when I tried to do that the increase in pain was very obvious.
The menigitis was the piece that finally got me a lyme/babesia diagnosis after 8 years.
I had terrible headaches and stiff neck for all of those 8 years but now with 2+ years of treatment I rarely get headaches and the stiff neck is better although it still cracks.
Hope you are feeling better.

feeling like I am running too fast but I can't slow down becuase I am already standing still - my poor body - it really gets stressed out
I hope they can give me something for the Bart on Thursday

I also have the stiff neck and back of the head pain.
So far, long term doxy is the only thing that has helped it.

I have dealt with stiff necks and head pain for years on and off. I thought mine was babs.
When I just had a horrible herx, one that was worse than any I had ever had, I was taken to the ER.. cat scan and blood tests show'd nothing. Spinal tap came up viral meningitis.
Believe me, the bad stiff necks and head pain were nothing compared to what I had with the viral meningitis. You will know how severe it is and can't function at all when it goes into a meningtis. And yes, you can't put your chin to your chest, can't open your eyes to any light, vomiting is non stop... viral meningitis is wicked.
This sounds simple and hard... but stress can do a big bad number on your body. Our minds can think so negative and get us deeper in the stress mode. If you, and myself, and all of us, can try to not let stress get the best of us, we will be better for it. Hard to do.... but take it on as a job...you're seeing a dr. soon, and thinking positive that he will have answers that will help you get to a better place.
