A few days before my period, my muscle spasms increase to the point I can barely walk. What can I take to lessen the severity of the spasms while I PMS?

I did find a LLMD but I do not have an appointment yet, I am on a waiting list.

Thank you advance and stay safe during Hurricane Irene.

I agree with Magnesium, however if you suffer with really severe symptoms, this might be a good option as well.

Magnesium + Vitamin B6 can help.
Adequate hydration and electrolyte intake (electrolytes = potassium, magnesium, calcium, sodium, phosphorus, chloride)
Epsom salt bath soaks also can help.
I use a heating bad when muscle cramps get really bad.

Homeopathic Cuprum Met. is also really helpful for skeletal muscle cramps (doesn't work for smooth muscle spasms).

evening primrose oil can help, but it takes couple of weeks with regular use to see effect
