Is anyone else taking Questran (cholestyramine) ? Has it made anyone else herx like crazy?

My LLMD just put me on it, haven't take it as I am debating.. so many meds.. She said it would help get rid of the biofilm.
She also changed my abx, just when I was getting comfortable with the protocol I was on. Changed to Omnicef and Ketek..
Hope to hear from others that are on it. Are you taking Questran if so is it helping?
Guess I will try all the meds and if they kill me so what..

Cholestyramine can cause a cytokine response. It's not technically a herx.
It's used for toxins and mold detox. I personally couldn't take it.

Well it works because it causes a reaction similar to a herx, apparently I am full of toxins I guess. You have to take it apart from all of your other meds which makes it a challenge.

Right, it causes cytokines to flare making you feel achey and flu-like. It's not from a die-off or loose toxins, it's from a cytokine response. Dr. S recommends taking Actos with it to lessen that response. I couldn't take the Actos because of the blood sugar issues, so I couldn't take cholestyramine.
There are other ways to bind toxins. The reaction is not an indication of how well it's working, only how much of a cytokine reponse you're having. I'm not a fan of that reaction to cholestyramine. Some things I think you just have to suck it up and deal with the reaction, but to this one, I just don't see the benefit.
