I was curious how long people were on IV before they started seeing improvement.
I started IV 4 weeks ago. I herxed for 12 days, then had 4 days where I felt about like I did before I started treatment.
After those 4 days all my symptoms increased again. I'm getting frustrated and discouraged - should I be seeing any improvement yet or not?

Hi finallylyme I can't answer your question as I was actually going to post a question asking how is IV working for everyone?
It looks as though my new doctor is going to start me on IV antibiotics. I'm currently on my 4th round of oral antibiotics in 4 years and I haven't been "healed" or "cured" yet.
Pro's and Con's anyone would be helpful. Thanks.

I was on IV rocephin for about 3 months, and have switched to IV azithromyocin for the past 6 months, and feel like I'm very near to being healed. If you look under my old posts (under Cht girl) I share some insights and and tips of saving $$ when doing IV therapy in some detail. I would say it took me 5 months or longer to be sure that I was getting ahead of this disease, so don't be discouraged after only one month on IV. I wish you better health soon.

I am on iv rocephin. I've already had 7 months of oral with no response.
I just changed my oral from Doxy to rifampin last night.

susank: I just noticed you got a positive Bb culture with Advanced Labs after all other testing was negative. WOW, that is HUGE. This test IMO is going to be a game-changer both in diagnosis/treatment and the "politics" of Lyme.
We need Bill Gates to donate $500,000 to be used solely to retest 1,000 people previously declared "NOT LYME" by ID'iot docs. GAME OVER if we can do that.
