Cool! That is similar to other microscopic stuff I've seen on spirochetes. THANKS to your hubby!!! Posted by YinYang (Member # 36358) on :
Thanks for sharing. It's interesting to see.
Now that you can see them, get RID of them! Posted by 'Kete-tracker (Member # 17189) on :
Eeeew!!
I see the one pic. Yup... spiros! (Looks like a scan of a folded print of the image.) Tell your husband, "Good job".
In conclusion, Eeeew! Posted by debilyn (Member # 35753) on :
The fold part is how it came out of the envelop; it was tri-folded thus that line.
Really gross! I just want them all dead. Ewwwwww! is right.

Thanks Debilyn! Has this result changed your treatment protocol?
Posted by debilyn (Member # 35753) on :
AuntLynn,
I wasn't on treatment prior to this test; I had yet to be dx w/Lyme.
The head doc of the medical group I go to for 'fibromyalgia' et al. happened to be looking at my chart, called me and said "I think you have Lyme. I want you to come in for a new Lyme test."
When the results came back positive, I found an LLMD and started treatment on 2/8/12.
I take Biaxin, Ceftin, and pulse Tindamax two weeks on and two weeks off.
So actually the test started my treatment.

If your LLMD started you on those he "musta" Dx'ed you w/ Lyme. Any diagnostic codes on your latest paperwork? Lyme is 088.81 as many here know. (Funny how every condition seems to have a # assoc w/ it) Sounds like a good protocol an intracelular, a cell wall agent & pulsing a cyst buster. Go debi! Hope you can hang in there with the dosing levels he wants you on.

I was about to 'edit' that last message; fix typos & add spaces, but the browser here just posted it anyhow. Whoops! Sorry
Anyhow, good luck with your treatment. But be prepared for some tough times ahead.

"But be ready for some tough times ahead"
I've had the roller coaster of symptoms since I started these meds. I mean I have been sicker than I ever have even before I started these abx.
Are these the tough times you mention? I sure hope it doesn't get worse than this.
Do you think the combo of abx is wrong? I've been feeling pretty badly--flu-ish, body aches, neck pain, and weird brain zaps.

Debilyn -
Although I am no expert, it sounds like the combination is giving those buggers a serious challenge! Most pathogens will put up a fight trying to "outgrow" an abx, until the abx gets the better of them - then you have all this dead bacteria in your bloodstream, until your body can get rid of it.
I'd be flushing with plenty of liquids and Vitamin C right now if I were you. (Fresh juices could be good.)
I'm sure others here will have good suggestions for their own successful detoxification aids that will help you get through this classic "Herxheimer" reaction. I've heard warm epsom salts baths help too. (The magnesium helps to draw toxins out through your skin.)
Hang in there, and best luck!

YES. In the first month of treatment, things can get real tough, especially with a full array of Lyme antibiotics.
My LLMD started me on 1 & added others as I progressed. Your doc might have decided on a more agressive approach.
You will have some days worse than others. Brain zaps, muscle twitches, dull headaches, neck pain, pains in the rib or large joints, nausea, lack of energy, etc.,.. all part of the Jarsch Herxheimer reactions. It tends to come in waves, with the 2nd day & 4th week being the toughest for me, as I recall.
But I think you might be getting about the worst of it now, though a *new* abx protocol, in 3 or 4... or 5 months time *might* bring more waves of bad "herxing", but it's usually not as bad.
(Only beng on Ketek for me- in the 3rd month- was a nightmare, but we discontinued it due to side-effects I was having.)
And, Yes, "it's working". Hang in there! Keep in touch w/ your Doc's office if need be.

Get on high quality probiotics. Take at least 100 billion CFU's per day. Space them out.
follow a good diet, free of sugar and starches
avoid fruit and fruit juices

I take VitaCost Probiotic, 15 strains and 35 billion CFUs. I've been taking three a day.
Is this a good probiotic, or do you recommend a better one?
Thanks all for answering my questions.

Do you have a juicer? Carrot with anything green (celery, parsley, cabbage) is yummy!
If you must add a bit more sweetness (although cabbage juice is surprisingly sweet)... try a Green Granny Smith apple, which is low enough in sugar to be recommended to autistic kids placed on gluten free, sugar free diet.

I did not take my meds without yeast protection. I use Nystatin, 4 tabs a day.
Posted by debilyn (Member # 35753) on :
When do you take the Nystatin in relation to the abx?
I have been prescribed Nystatin as well, but each time I take it within 10 minutes, I vomit. I can't keep it in my stomach.
Do you take it w/abx, w/supplements? How can I keep it in my stomach, so it does its job?
