Hi

I know this is probably asked all the time, but things change and new supplements get mentioned.

GSE?
Garlic?
Berberine?

Looking for anything I can take before I get to the doc.

Thank You

Berberine chloride hands down!

http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=118762;p=0

We don't know the timing and exact dosage...yet. But GlycoX 250mg TID (3x/day) 15 minutes before meals looks to be safe.

Safety first.

There are some things you should NOT combine it with.

Example: Berberine inhibits STAT1 and STAT4 (cell signals). While garlic promotes STAT1.

So taking those two supplements...one will likely counter the effectiveness of the other.

I do not have lyme, my sister does/did (she is now "autoimmune").

I've been researching for 12 years now trying hard to understand this incredibly complex pathogen and trying hard to understand why nonstop abx(s) - ALL of them over a 3 year period of time - failed to cure her (along with a ton of supplements). I have well over 5,000 MS word files. I had so much to learn (and still do).

Glycolysis - oxidative phosphorylation (uncoupled)- PFK1 and PFK2 dependent - PI3K pathway triggered...the list goes on and on.

I started out with literally zero knowledge and didn't even know what LLMD stood for (and was too embarrased to ask).

My research was done to save my sister's life as well as the lives of those others infected with this horrible pathogen.

I am in NO WAY tied to any doctor, product, website, etc. I have NEVER (and will NEVER take) taken any money for my research.

Many here have contributed to my knowledge and have helped me to learn. I am deeply indebted to many persons here for sharing their knowledge.

This is, and has been, a JOINT effort to find a SAFE and AFFORDABLE CURE for the masses.

Where can I buy this?...other than online?

Thanks

Online only to my knowledge. Amazon and:

BUT...check with your doctor and pharmacists - plural - about any potential reaction if you combine it with ANY other drug/supplement.

It is okay if they work in synergy (work together).

Like this:

14. Berberine and malaria (best with pyrimethamine)

While 500mg of GlycoX is available and is the highest amt. allowed by law...err on the side of safety please and stick with 250mg. And go slowly...try one per day first after you have your doctor's "blessing" to go ahead and try it.

Take the list of berberine benefits into your docs office and ask him/her if he thinks it would be safe to try!!!

(My sis did the same when she considered trying curcumin. After seeing the list of benefits of curcumin, her doc told her she could safely try it. It didn't work...neither did the abxs, Humira, Fosamax, etc. and tolerating Methotrexate is really hard.)

Run it by your regular doctor first.

I hope you dont mind me asking, trial and error can take years.
If non-stop abx did not help your sister....what did help the most...or finally made a difference...in your opinion?

Thank You

Berberine has some excellent properties (be sure to read Marnie's links on that - and the source listed seems quite good - just always start low dose, increase slowly),

Also good: allicin (see Zhang's book) and many of the herbs in Buhner's book (see that in the link below).

Often, it's the exact formulation, the combination and rotation that makes a difference.

When considering herbal / nutritional / adjunct methods:

if at all possible - because each person & each case is different - it's best to consult with an ILADS-educated LL (lyme literate) doctor who has completed four years of post-graduate medical education in the field of herbal and nutritional medicine -

- and someone who is current with ILADS' research & presentations, past and present.

Many LL NDs incorporate antibiotics (depending upon the licensing laws in their state). Some LLMDs and LL NDs have good working relationships.

When possible, it's great to have both a LLMD and LL ND and even better when they have a long-standing professional relationship.

How to find an ILADS-educated LL:

N.D. (Naturopathic Doctor);

L.Ac. (Acupuncturist);

D.Ay. (Doctor of Ayurvedic Medicine);

D.O.M. (Doctor of Oriental Medicine);

Integrative / Holistic M.D., etc. (Be aware that those in this category can have various levels of formal herbal &/or nutritional education, perhaps even just a short course. Do ask first.)

Links to many articles and books by holistic-minded LL doctors of various degrees who all have this basic approach in common:

Understanding of the importance of addressing the infection(s) fully head-on with specific measures from all corners of medicine;

knowing which supplements have direct impact, which are only support and which are both.

You can compare and contrast many approaches.

BASIC HERBAL EDUCATIONAL & SAFETY links,

BODY WORK links with safety tailored to lyme patients,

LOW HEAT INFRARED SAUNA detail,

BIONIC 880 (& PE-1) links, and

RIFE links.

Heres at least one ILADS-trained LL ND in your city (thought you posted previously that you are in Minneapolis area?).

She is also listed here, 3rd down:

Also call the LLMD with whom you have your first appt. set in Oct. and ask them.

powerful antiinfectives with science to back them up : Grapefruit seed extract , olive leaf extract , andrographis ( I like nature's way ) and my favorite ( from Herb Pharm ) artemesia annua . This works on lyme and other infections like GSE .

According to Dr Eva Sapi , samento and banderol combined kill lyme in test tube so may be worth trying .

Marnie , has the berberine chloride helped your sister ?

Posted by annxyzz (Member # 20404) on :

PS IMO , I am not sure the drugs help lyme more than herbs . They did not help me after three years very much . GSE and artemesia annua helped me more than ABX . Just my personal experience .

Also , do not ignore the fact that parasites are a possibility . I did not think they were until taking ivemectin , which has been an eye opener.
