I was in the process of filling out disability for my back ( had a surgery for my si joint which helped but still have spine issues...long story). Anyway, i have not filed yet and it may or may not be enough to really get it.
I have since found out i have lyme. Which has inhibited me from rehabbing. Got bit six months after surgery. Awesome. Question is i cant decide if should add lyme or not. Im thinking will it help or just hurt due to the controversy. I know they just look at what you can and cant do anyway.
I am positive on quest lab for IGM lyme ( two bands). Im afraid it will end up being a psych eval like i saw an attorney talking about online that someone posted.
What are the chances it could help? Opinions?
Thanks as always.

You can get disability for tick-borne diseases. I would definitely include it because you do have it. Having a positive test is a plus.
Having Lyme is stopping you from going to rehab which is also relevant.
There are posts here about disability, you may want to do a search.

Can add it, but focus on SYMPTOMS and how they prevent you from working.
Make darn sure your doctors are on board with this.
That's what kept me from getting disability - the doctors did NOT document my inability to do stuff and did not support my disability filing (they thought my stuff was all in my head - this was long before I knew anything about Lyme).
And I'd suggest getting a lawyer from the outset. I should have done that, too...

I agree about getting a lawyer, they only get paid if you win and it is a small percentage. Otherwise, most people are typically denied once or twice before they get a lawyer.
