My 3 year old niece was bitten by a Lone Star tick on May 8th.

Her pediatrician put her on a month of amoxicillin which she started four days later.

Tick site looked fine at that point... not red or irritated.

Today (3 weeks later) it looks like a red swollen pimple.

Is this anything to be concerned about?

I really don't know. I would think that anything could become infected. Do you know if she's been scratching it?

Is she still taking the amoxy?

She is still on the amoxicillin.

The site doesn't itch or hurt.

We are keeping an eye out for any rash or symptoms.

I am not too familiar with the Lone Star ticks and specific bacteria they carry.

Is there a "relapsing" bacteria or virus they can carry?

I had strange satelite rashes pop up when I first started treating lyme.

Maybe it is a satellite rash?
