Does anybody know WHY muscle twitching often happens because of lyme?

This had been one of my most long standing symptoms, and always makes me wonder why it's actually happening.

I've heard because of lack of magnesium. Is this the reason or is it something else going on?

Thats what i have heard

It has been worse lately for me so i added a cup of calm before bed and it helps

I might get worse when it is hot and humid-i am heat intolerant and sweat alot

Calcium and potassium are important too

what is calm?

Calm is magnesium. I believe the Lyme bacteria uses a lot of magnesium and steals it from your body, so you need to supplement to keep the twitches away. Someone correct me if I am wrong on this.

I use magnesium glycinate tablets by Metagenics as they are easy on the tummy. I add calcium with it and sometimes zinc.

I'm not totally convinced it is due to lyme. Once I
had my thyroid meds adjusted my twitching stopped.

I was having a lot of cramps and muscle pain, especially at night.

I also use the mag glycinate from Metagenics, along with a potassium supplement and it seems to solve that problem.

Treating bartonella and lyme and mycoplasma simultaneously helped with the twitching.

I agree with the others about upping magnesium.
