Hi wondering if anyone has had severe leg pain from neuropathy I have borrellia, bartonella and babesiosis. I've had to take oxycodone but hate it and looking for anything to do but narcotics. I'm talking unbearable pain crushing cold numb pain and stabs and worse than labor. I take turmeric and topical medication by MD. I cant tolerate any anti seizure or anti depressants or lyrica used for pain. Im looking for a natural way if possible. I have heard that it can improve after treatment but my treatment has been so slow due to sick for so long amount of bugs and die off is huge. Any help appreciated. Thanks to all.

Try looking up compounding companies where they can make a cream to apply topically. There is an alternative doc in my area who has had success with this. The creams normally have Gabapentin, and some sort of anti-inflammatory mixed in.

Thank you I already have that with about 6 medications in it. It helps a tiny bit but not enough to decrease the pain medication. I have heard that the co infections bab and bart cause this and I have both with lyme. Thank you for the help.

I take NOW brand curcumin for pain as I cannot tolerate ibuprofen, tylenol or hydrocodone.

Try Swanson's Vitamins for a good price.

Gabapentin (brand name: Neurontin) was and is my savior for neuropathy.

Tramadol is a backup that I use for breakthrough neuropathy, but I seldom have to resort to this. Gabapentin seems to do a great job for keeping the pain at bay.

I know these are drugs and not naturals, however, if neuropathy is causing you to lose sleep or the pain causes increased stress levels, these conditions, in my humble opinion, could cause more damage than the drugs at the moment.

Hope you feel better soon!

nursejed1...

I had severe, intractable neuropathy and parasthesia for 8 years...24/7, head to toe without reprieve, and pain meds, etc. did not make an impact whatsoever.

I paced constantly for those years, because the pain increased if I stopped moving. My nervous system was so jacked up that I even woke up under anesthesia on 2 different occasions, and, according to doctors had to be given the dosage for a person 3 times my weight to be kept under.

I am now well, pain and med free, thanks to mild hyperbaric. You can read more on this thread: http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php/topic/1/125201 Another great resource is "The Oxygen Revolution", by Dr. Paul Harch.
