I'd like opinion on an Igenex test result? Plus I'd be curious how many others have seen this in chronic long term illness rather than a new infection?

Western Blot IgM CDC and IGgenex positive

18 kDa +
23-25 kDa +++
31 kDa IND
39 kDA IND
41 kDa +
83 kDa IND

Western Blot IgG

39 kDa IND
41 kDa +

Multiplex PCR negative

IFA Bb negative

Seems od the IgM would be so positive in a late infection with no positive IgG's except the Flagellen 41

Could this be an EBV cross reaction?

Repeat opinions?

thanks

With lyme, IgM and IgG is often sort of "flipped" from what one might expect in other infections.

IgM is usually a big flag for persistent / chronic (and therefore very much active) in lyme. But any positive band, either IgM or IgG is an important flag. See the Western Blot article here, explaining it:

Either way, IgG or IgM .. it needs to be treated.

Dr C of MO says if either one is positive, it is positive and needs to be treated.
