My daughter was on Plaquenil for about one week. She got terrible weakness that might have been low blood sugar.
The doctor had her stop it and all her other meds which included Tindamax, Biaxin and Augmentin.
The weakness lifted but what remains is brain fog.
Any thoughts?

Did the Biaxin and Augmentin help the brain fog? They help my daughter.
Phosphatidylserine (PS100) and Pycnogenol have been helpful.

the brain fog came after adding the plaquenil to the other meds, she never had the brain fog before.

Would you think trying her Adderall would help?

If I am reading this correct, she was doing pretty good (no brain fog) on Biaxin, Augmentin, pulse Tindimax,
added the Plaq. and a big NO. Removed the Plaq. AND all other antibx.,
so now she's off everything, side affect weakness/ Plaq. gone, but left w/ brain fog.
But, she is off the Biaxin and Augmentin. Sounds to me (and I see this here in my own dd),
the Biaxin and Augmentin were clearing brain fog/cognitive gains.

Don't forget candida/yeast as a possible cause.

Congratulations on her incredible accomplishments!
Glad it's all clearing out from the Plaq.

Thanks, Surprise. Lymetoo, she's really careful with the diet, probiotics, etc.
Unfortunately the brain fog is back. It seems to come and go all day.
It's all so frustrating.

Also, night sweats for the first time ever last night. She's never tested positive for anything but Lyme... other than the genetic realtime labs testing for mold susceptibility which came back positive.
Maybe the Plaquenil hit Babesia?

In our area of the country, nearly 100% of all lyme patients have babesiosis. So, you have to treat for it regardless of test results.
She is exhibiting the symptoms now that you evidently attacked it. This was my experience also; I had no real babs symptoms until my doctor started treating it. Then, look out!

Thx TF. That's what I was thinking, too. She says that her doctor has treated it at some point during the years, but my daughter also thinks she may have had another bite last summer.
My son tested positive for duncani, so his doctor hammered it. I actually think what worked for him was Larium and Alinia, but who knows, really. And he's been cured so long now that maybe what his doctor did is not being done now. He's been well since early 2012.
