Bart or Lyme .. but all of them can cause it.

I would guess it is from inflammation from any or all of them.

Babesia for me, was the worst, worst, worst, no doubt. Even change of personality, of reactions.

after babesia, any infection can also cause depression.

Physical body feeling unwell long term = depression.

How can you feel great if your body is so unhealthy for so many months, years?

Lack of initiative is my first obvious symptom.

Then I realize I turn inwards, avoiding social contact. All due to disease, no matter which. A cold can make you feel crap.

It is the time factor that makes us depressed. The longer you are ill, the more your mind /heart feels the consequence.

I think, my first barometer is initiative. Once that is low, I know I'm less well.
