You guy have any experience with raw foods?

I'm trying to incorporate the raw cabbage juice, because studies show it's very healing for ulcers, but it seems making me feel awful.

Maybe just a detox reaction? I'm only drinking 1/4 to 1/2 a cup each day.

Are you eating enough food, though. This is not in place of a meal, right? If so, hypoglycemia could make anyone feel ill.

You might try diluted with water and see if the effect is less intense.

You might also try other veggies with it for balance. A carrot and bit of ginger, say.

Could be the glutamate / glutamic acid in this - if not combined with other foods - could be too neuro-excitatory for you, as MSG might be.

There may be some other nutrients that could be too strong unless combined with other foods or diluted with water and maybe some flax seed meal so digestion is not too quick.

Oh yes, I'm eating tons of food. I drink it extremely slow and drink a lot of water in-between sips, so I'm not sure diluting it would help much.

On the bright side though, it does seem to help my stomach. But has increased my vertigo and fatigue like crazy.

i was gonna say maybe I could drink it in the middle of a meal, but the effects last long after I've finished drinking it, so I'm not sure even that would help.

Then stop it. IMO, anything that increases either / both vertigo & fatigue is not worth it. And can be dangerous. If you are certain this is the thing that is doing that.

Vertigo could be increased due to the glutamate content if you are going with cabbage as the only food.

But, whatever it is . . . could it be the NOISE from the machine? You are using decibel rated ear MUFFS, right? The kind lawn & garden machine users would wear. The must be decibel rated.

Such noise could cause vertigo that could last for hours - and cause hearing damage if proper ear plugs &/or dB muffs are not used. Ear plugs are not enough, IMO.

Sounds like you are drinking it, and water, on an empty stomach in between meals, though. First do try maybe to take it about 10 minutes prior to a meal. See how that works. That way, it would reach an empty stomach but not for too long.

But also add in a carrot, at least, to the cabbage as you juice or puree it. A touch of ginger root should help with ears and also with circulation / energy.

If that does not help there are many other ways to nurture the gut lining and help with ulcer than cabbage juice. So many other ways.

Doesn't sound good.

It's also high in sulfur and some don't tolerate it well.

I think I do ok with sulpher. I can take a fairly large dose of MSM with no problems.

It's not the noise, the fatigue and vertigo don't start until later after drinking it, and it doesn't be go away even after 24hrs. I kinda wonder if I'm so deficient in some nutrient that it's giving me a sort of healing crisis. I dunno. I do drink it just prior to a meal, but over the course of about an hour. I eat 4-5 large meals a day.

It's not as easy as just stopping it. I have to heal my gastritis/ulcer. It feels like it's approaching the danger zone, and other therapies either haven't worked or I can't tolerate them.

It was too much for me too.

I'd say that reaction means it's not the right juice for you.

But keep experimenting with healthy inputs to discover what does help. In general, that can mean juicing fruits and veggies, also drinking teas.

Beet juice is awesome for me, due to a methylation blockage such that I need the actual juice input.

My doc thinks it's probably borrelia causing it Lapis, but thanks for the tip. I haven't heard of that herb, I'll check it out.

Robin, good to hear that I'm not alone! The only other juice I can find that may have ulcer healing properties is celery, I might have to try that out. I plan on slowly introducing other juices too for general health, but I really gotta get my stomach lining healed.

I'm on a raw food only diet for the last 4, 5 days.

Lots of healing crisis, increase of symptoms etc.

I'm helping a lady with chronic lyme with my PE1. She can't digest raw foods. Gut is too ill to digest it, I suppose.

I gave her one spoon of my kimchi (raw cabbage, but fermented). She loved the stuff. It stinks like hell, but she asked me more.

I gave her a whole mayonese size pot full of kimuchi, she devoured it in one meal.

She did not collapse because her Borrrelia is already low level (compared to a month ago, when we started biophotons).

She said, "I crave it and I want to learn how to prepare it!"

Well, it's FULL of sulphur, full of probiotics, completely raw, and I love this stuff.

I never had problems with raw foods, never, I think. But what I like in kimuchi is that veggies are crunchy still.

You could try to ferment your cabbage?

Expect though a healing crisis. I have been herxing (mildly) but surely non stop since I started doing that.

Places I would never thought I would herx (like in my womb?!!) are showing up with kind of awful things (a bit too graphic...).

I feel my sinuses are also 100% of the time detoxing, liquids flowing... In my case, it's not massive, just bits by bits, but it's constant.

I'm attacking candida with this raw food diet. But I feel so good with it that I think I'll keep it for longer.

My head is so clear, I really feel like I'm fasting, but I'm not weak or hungry.

If you'd like a recipe of kimchi, I can post it again. Very cheap, a bit of work, but you can eat your kimchi for 1, 2 months after you prepared it.

In the end, it's worth the effort.

My husband has been taking it for years to break up kidney stones. It sure works for that!

I really have a feeling that a healing crisis is what I'm experiencing, which is kinda alarming, because I didn't drink that much of the juice. I can't believe I would have such a strong reaction to such a relatively small amount of good nutrients. Wish I could know for sure I wasn't just having a bad reaction to something in it though.

I've thought about fermenting, but right now my main focus is healing my gastritis/ulcer, and I'm not sure if the fermented food would have the same effect on ulcers as the raw juice. It's definitely something I'll keep in mind though. I think maybe I'll try to just drink tiny amounts of the juice every day and very slowly work up.

years? then try hydrangea root.

solved my persistent kindey stone issue fairly quickly. way better than chanc piedra for stones. also juniper and uva ursi for general kidney support.

never heard of BB directly causing ulcer? sounds suspicious

I would get tested for h pylori, and least then you would know what you are dealing with.

Many kinds of medications can also cause an ulcer, even a baby aspirin a day can do this (and, therefore aspirin poses a big risk).

NSAIDS are also very risky for ulcers.

Bb can set up the stomach lining for ulcers, though as it compromises the entire terrain by creating of "leaky gut" - and other factors can be part of the picture, too.

Various infections can cause more direct ulcerations as well but, as lapis suggests, h pylori should always be considered.

All the support measures in the world won't help if the cause(s) are not identified and handled, too. While there can be multiple causes, h pylori is the one that always needs to first be considered and always be ruled out.

Lapis, yes, he mentioned several cases where borrelia was found in the stomach lining. He's a very research-oriented man. Two years ago I had a biopsy of mild gastritis, showed no H. Pylori. I think that's why he thinks it's likely borrelia.

Keebler, yeah it was actually ibuprofen + an HCl supplement that sent my stomach over the edge. I highly regret taking those.

Hi there! I did 2 rounds of fasting 10 days each twice this year. I did carrot, apple and beet juice mixed with chlorella and followed that with straight red cabbage juice about 7 ounces.

Also had herbal teas with honey and chicken and vegetable broth. The broths were non GMO and organic.

Outside of the taste I didn't have any problems with cabbage juice.

I did take antihistamines, norvasc, melatonin, pepcid, magnesium, SAMe, CoQ10, spirulina and Advil pm or Tylenol pm.

Also for the duration took pain pills, muscle relaxers and sleeping pills for minor surgery pain.

Did have some minor stomach pain around day 8 onward but could have been from RX's.

Thanks for sharing your experience! Honestly I think I've come to the conclusion that I'm just so nutrient-deficient, when my body got a few good nutrients from the juice it went haywire trying to repair things. Which is kinda scary actually, but gives me hope and a route to slowly work towards. I'm just gonna have to go VERY slowly.
