Greetings,

I was wondering if I could get some input on this video: https://youtu.be/CETcCdmLzYg

The person that helped me with it says it's definitely a spirochete. The one doctor that was even willing to look at the video said it's just contamination. What do you guys think?

Regards,
Chris

The video quality is very poor, but I would say yes it is a spirochete. And, I've looked at a lot of infected blood. I'm not a doctor or a professional, but I think I know one when I see one.

Please check out the microscopy thread:

Thanks for the reply. Any idea if this could also be contamination from skin bacteria or something like that if the blood wasn't drawn properly?

I'll have a look at that thread, quite the long read it seems!

It definitely appears to me to be a spirochete, and spirochetes do not live on the skin. I seriously doubt it's contamination. If in doubt, watch the sample making process carefully and look for any steps that could have introduced contamination. If sterile techniques were used, it's highly unlikely. Multiple samples should give you a better idea of what's in your blood.

The microscopy thread is a long one now, with over 20 pages, but well worth the read if you are interested in blood microscopy.
