Could anyone refer me to a reputable physician specializing in Lyme treatment in Manhattan?

I tested positive 3 weeks ago and have been taking doxy for 3 weeks, but my symptoms haven't abated. I also tested positive around 8 years ago -- treated with antibiotics then, but am wondering whether it was ever fully eradicated. (I had the bullseye ring back then, but not this past time. Went to the dr. again 3 wks ago when my joints --partic. hip joints --began to ache terribly seemingly out of the blue....)

You really are doing yourself a disservice by requiring the doc be in NYC or Manahattan.

To get a good lyme doctor, you MUST be willing to travel. If you want the name of a really good doctor, let me know. (Send me a private message--click on the envelope icon above my post.)

Here is an example of a NYC doc you want to stay away from:

Many doctors treat lyme disease, but only a few have enough experise (and guts) to get rid of this horrendous disease for you. Seems like you have experienced this!!

To get to one of those few, you often have to travel 100 miles or more, at least for the first appointment.

After that, telephone appointments are allowed.

Let me know if you want to know more.

Agree about Dr. R. and that the NYC is not the best choice for the best LLMD's. It never was.

Yup. Widen your search to upstate NY, CT, etc. Reword your title, or start a new thread.
