welcome trish
that llmd is ONLY one in the direct area.
what large cities are you close to in colorado? that's the closest state with llmds who ARE taking patients.
trish, i'd make an appt. w/dr. c and ask to be put on their cancellation list. i know of someone who got in within 1-2 weeks due to cancellation process!!!
they'll send you a long q/answer to complete; work on that right away to get it done so whenver they would call w/cancellation it is DONE. he will use all the info you furnish him.
when i saw someone else in another state, i paid for my medical files from our clinic and hospital in order to complete the q/a and used for the ssdi, disability insurance, work benefits claim...
let me know about colorado, and i'll send you what i have.
Welcome to Lymenet! I'm so glad you found us! You've come to the right place for education and support!
The following is some links that may be helpful to you:
People seeking doctors might be able to get help from their state online information and support group. Nearly 3,400 people belong to state groups. Some of the groups are small but more than 20 of them have 50 or more people and seven have over 100.
The groups are moderated and you have to apply. Most don't allow doctor names, but once on the group, you can ask for doctors in a certain area and ask people to email you privately.
This explains the medical politics around Lyme, and why you need an ILADS-educated or ILADS-member LLMD (and there are also some ILADS-member LL NDs (naturopathic doctors):
ILADS The International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS) provides a forum for health science professionals to share their wealth of knowledge regarding the management of Lyme and associated diseases. www.ilads.org
They will also send you a ``test kit'' with their required form, all the test vials, & box to ship it in. Be sure to download Igenex's required form. MD, DO, ND, AC, DC are all fine** must sign, date, and show diagnosis code on there why he's ordering the test.
Optional tests include: co-infection panel for your area of country and PCR whole blood
Igenex is pre-pay/out of network for most insurances. If you are on medicare, Igenex will file the paperwork & it's free to you.

- Trish,
Be sure to get on their list in case there is a cancellation.
I sent by PM suggestions for what might be of help while you wait for appointment, with some book links. There are some things that can help but, of course, do keep that appointment. -

His cancellation list is usually a very good thing to be on! You may get called in a matter of weeks.
