bears,

Welcome but, of course, sorry for the reason you are here.

Many here have trouble with vision. So that more can read and reply, here's your post broken up for easier reading:

I am so sorry to be the one to share what your doctors should have told you/done 20 years ago. If you do not already know, lyme is a very political disease. Only a few doctors have done the necessary research and they are constantly bombarded by other doctors who are just not interested, too lazy or just don't care.

Likely, your regular doctors have not been taught the truth about lyme. It's a sub-speciality when correctly approached but most doctors think it's no big deal.

From a search, I found that WEBINO is Wall-eyed bilateral internuclear ophthalmoplegia. Without getting into details, lyme can cause all sorts of problems with the eyes, brain, nerves, inner ear that affects vision, etc.

Lyme likely never really left. Three weeks' treatment is far too little. And lyme requires more than one antibiotic at a time.

It becomes dormant, goes into a cyst form but can reemerge at anytime, especially when under stress or with steroid use. (Steroids are horrible for lyme).

Some patients can see long remissions but it can return. At this time, there is no cure but many do get better and then if it flares, prompt attention sets them right again - although the path is neither short nor easy.

You could also have coinfections that were never addressed. You should also be tested for other tick-borne infections. In the meantime, GINGER Capsules might help the vertigo some. Magnesium, too.

Here are links to SAVE to your personal reference file. You will be relying on Dr. B's sets and the book by Dr. S, too. It's good to have those at your fingertips.

Good luck.

You do NOT need another lyme test if you were positive before - or EVER had a bulls eye rash, which you did. You need a good LLMD to sort it all out, though.

Persisting atypical and cystic forms of Borrelia burgdorferi and local inflammation in Lyme neuroborreliosis

Excerpts from the Conclusion:

. . . The results indicate that atypical extra- and intracellular pleomorphic and cystic forms of Borrelia burgdorferi and local neuroinflammation occur in the brain in chronic Lyme neuroborreliosis. . . .

. . . The persistence of these more resistant spirochete forms, and their intracellular location in neurons and glial cells, may explain the long latent stage and persistence of Borrelia infection. The results also suggest that Borrelia burgdorferi may induce cellular dysfunction and apoptosis. . . .

Sorry to say but lyme CAN come back in 20 years or any time the immune system is weakened, just like a cold sore and other illnesses such as shingles (chicken pox the second time around).

Hi - Medical Questions or General Support would be good categories for you to post in.

Lyme sometimes comes on hard after a stress event that lowers our immune system or taxes our body in some way.

Re eyes, I was able to stop eye symptoms, including blurred vision, by drinking mangosteen juice, an anti-inflammatory antioxidant juice. I drink the Ultra brand with 70 minerals added. And there are lots of brands available.

If you try it, go slow and drink a lot of water also.

We have threads on it that you can find by typing "mangosteen" in the Search box at the top.

You will need to treat, it will be a process, learn everything you can to be as informed as you can as you go through the treatment process.
