Hello. I have Lyme & I am sure now that all my sons chronic & serious health problems are because I passed lyme to him. I've shown up with two positive tests on Western blot and Bart but he's not showing up. I live in Austin Texas and wanted to reach out to find out who the best pediatric LLMDs are in the US or even here in Texas. I understand there is/was a Dr W.

I am only seeking highly experienced doctors who use the latest protocols and go to the conferences. Totally willing to go out of state so please provide more than Texas that are Pediatric LLMDs. My son is a very complicated case as he also has CRPS/RSD.

Thanks for your guidance!

Kelley

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent with some suggestions.

You did not mention how old your son was, but he needs to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

They are far and few between, unfortunately. You need to go where they are.

Also, most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":

http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/2/15615?#000005

When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner to see a LLMD by doing this.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/texaslyme

Maybe they can help.

Some more resources for you (including Support Groups info):
www.lyme-aware.org/texas.html

The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.

Read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Get it at your local library or buy it used on Amazon.

View "Under Our Skin" for free on www.hulu.com

Btw - please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs,as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.
