You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
They are far and few between, unfortunately. You need to go where they are.
Also, most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":
Dr. H, the top LLMD, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.
Read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check the local library or buy it used on Amazon.

There should be many people there because they are having a guest speaker.

I also know it is a huge controversy because my husand had lymes few years back and luckily he got better

Yes, lyme can cause Addison's and other adrenal dysfunction. Very much so.
yes, you can go to the meeting next week. What do these meetings do? Inform, educate and connect.
PLEASE go for you will be able to connect with others who have been where you are who can answer many questions.
Find out if there is to be a speaker at the meeting or the focus so you know how much time there will be for "sharing" or Q & A.
As you read "non-stop" -- do stop for mental health breaks often. This can be very tricky to learn what you need while also staying balanced.
you will not learn all you "need" to know for a while, so that is why it's vital to connect with others. -

WHY you need an ILADS "educated" or "minded" Lyme Literate doctor (whether MD or ND, or both) - starting with assessment / evaluation for lyme, OTHER tick-borne diseases, and other chronic stealth infections - and all that goes along for the ride.

As treatment for Addison's usually involves various hormones / steroids, and such can be important to sustain life. Required. But it's a long way from needing support, physiological replacement levels and beyond that.
Often, if lyme is the cause, trigger, or even secondary stressor, when lyme is treated, the adrenals can heal.
But, in the meantime, if Addison's is a clear matter (regardless of the cause), it is of utmost importance that if you have lyme - or COULD have lyme - to have this detail -- and why it's best that LLMD or LL ND be the doctor to guide you to the best endocrinologist who would also be LL (a very rare combination)

Yes, you can test negative for Lyme and have it. These stealth organisms morph from spiral-shaped to cyst form into cell-wall deficient types. That is why Lyme disease is a clinical diagnosis made by an experienced LLMD.
Support groups will give you a forum for asking questions, discussing things as well as learning more information, etc.
Yes, research all you can. Lymenet is an excellent source of information.
Lyme can cause all sorts of problems. My son now has adrenal fatigue from it (not Addison's) which we have recently started treating.
