My best friend's mother was just diagnosed with ALS but given the nature of her summer employment for the past 15 years (working at summer camps in an endemic state) Lyme seems quite likely.
She lives in Northern Va near Winchester/Stephens City.
Additionally my BIL has had ongoing chronic health issues that remain undiagnosed. He had asked me to find a holistic doctor and asked for any other suggestions I might have in general as I used to live in the area.
It has occurred to me that the possibility of Lyme has never been looked at for him. That would be a doctor near Arlington, VA. I think there might be a doctor in Vienna, VA as Google has pulled up mentions on other sites.
So this may fit the bill for both of them. TIA

Your friends need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.
Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. They need to go where they are.
Also most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":
