you can see the replay of today's (Nov. 8) "host chat" on the Regis and Kelly website. Near the end of the segment, Kelly says some ignorant things about Lyme (or, rather, "Lymes.") I think viewers should respectfully request the show to do something more factual about protecting oneself from ticks.

I hadn't seen the segement when I first heard about it, but I did go to their web site and leave an email regarding the severity of lyme and how not everyone sees the tick or gets a bullseye and how it left me crippled.

Basically tried to put it in a sweet way, but stressed that to those of us suffering from this, it's not really a comical topic. I know others have written as well, so maybe we can get something positive to come out of this.

I just watched it. She was making fun of her husband not Lyme. I just think the more the word is heard the more aware people are. So I think its a good thing.

She is all laughs - nothing from her is serious. Also, they live in Connecticut, and I wouldn't be surprised that because so many people have Lyme disease there, that it's become a "state". Kind of like when someone says "Oh, she's PMSing today!" I wouldn't be too tough on her, since she is so light headed!

Yeah, she's in it for the laughs. But she just taught millions that it's okay to put down someone you love for their concern about health.

That is not funny. No one should be made the brunt of a joke - especially out of the speaker's ignorance.

How many of our families have that behavior ? How many doctors we've seen.

Do some worry too much about stuff? yeah.

Are some concerned because they have health issues that are unexplained ? Oh, yes. We can't know what is going on for anyone. So, to be safe, it's never a joke.
