Hi everyone and welcome to the exercise thread!

We like to encourage one another to be as active as possible or just chat about our day.

So if you're out there shoveling snow, raking leaves, walking, weight training, doing physical therapy, etc. please post it here.

Here we go gang with another week of moving and grooving!

Hiker the action movie was Everything Everywhere All at Once. It has an R rating for language and some sexual innuendos but was suprisingly very funny.

Josh and I laughed a lot and enjoyed it.

Ak--I will have to keep that movie in mind.

Church this morning. The bishop of our diocese was here and his sermon was excellent.

I did a load of laundry.

Packed up and drove to my mom's which is just an hour away. My brother and his wife will appear tomorrow.

So, I helped mom with some tasks around her apartment. Then I watched the Illini basketball game.

Tonight, we will just have snacks and fruit for dinner--probably cheese and crackers, dried apricots, maybe some olives, and a pear. Of course, mom always has chocolate on hand!

Then I am sure we will retire to the living room where she will read the paper and I will read my book.

Changed my infusion day to yesterday so I could lighten my load next week.

I was busy today doing stupid stuff around the house.

Changed the battery in my bathroom scale.

Filled water bottles for the week.

Washed a winter coat and scarf.

Threw out old left-overs in the frig.

Cleaned kitty litter boxes and took out the trash.

Cleaned vacuum cleaner filter outside.

Had to plunge the shower drain.

Dusted. Does anyone get a lot of dust within a week?

Made sauce, angel hair pasta. Took out frozen eggplant parm but burnt them. Also made garlic bread, caught it just in time before I burnt them.

Talked to my sister. Talked to my friend. Watched the football game. Tried taking a nap but laid there.

ak- I watched that movie but couldn’t follow it. It was complicated but great action scenes. I’ll have to give it another chance,

hiker-do you sleep on the sofa? Is it comfortable? I’m glad no one will be alone on the holiday.

Time for tea and popcorn.
Gaining weight and I’m not happy about it!

Church this morning. On the way home went by the place a new family from church just moved into yesterday. Its only about 10 minutes from our place. She has no laundry at this house, so I invited her to come use our washer.

Took a nap this afternoon.

The children played some games with their cousins.

Too cold to spend more time outdoors other than doing chores. Glad the water bucket for the guineas is heated.

Need to gather up the stuff we want to send along home with the nephews. Sending some clothes my boys outgrew for their younger brother.

My tea is steeping, BB! Good idea on these cold nights!

BB—my mom has a 2 bedroom apartment in the independent living part of the retirement center. My dad used the second bedroom as an office and it still has his desk and computer but also has a twin bed. I think the bed is from my childhood and it is not comfortable but the couch would be worse. Lol.

Her apartment is very nice and has two baths as well as a large living room, small dining room and a one butt kitchen. Also has a utility room with washer and dryer and sink. The master bedroom is huge.

I could live in this space as a condo or house if it has an attached garage. [Big Grin]

However, the guest rooms are expensive at the retirement center and probably booked for the holidays. My brother and his wife will stay at a hotel.

Hi, everyone!

Hope you guys are all OK.

BB.. do you do IVIG infusions? Sorry, I can't remember.

hiker .. Hope you survived the old bed and that your mom was doing OK.

AK .. Your movies sound interesting...but I think I will pass. lol.

We had a good day at church. It was FREEZING COLD this morning. 18 degrees...warm to hiker!!

We are getting more and more visitors for this fall season .. and some new members too. That's nice to see!!

Our church is small, but has a lot to offer. One couple came today and they are going to spend half the year in our state, so will be joining later. He's a minister and I think that speaks well of our church. We seem to attract people like that, thank goodness.

Hubby and I ate at a Greek deli. A nice change.

Have a great week, everyone!

I got up pretty early as I didn’t sleep well in the old twin bed.

I did odds and ends for mom this morning while my brother and his wife did financial tasks for her. I cleaned out the bathroom cabinet and drawers and made several trips to the trash/ recycle room.

I dropped off some cans for soup to mom’s neighbor who isn’t getting around well after she fell.

I also did my feet exercises.

We went down after lunch to the storage locker and sorted through all the boxes. Found my mom’s 1962 Singer sewing machine and brought it back to the apartment. It still works fine so my SIL sewed some tears in mom’s blanket and then I remade her bed. I could barely get the needle threaded for Marilyn as it has such a small hole.

We found so many photos from my dad’s side of the family, but sadly no identifying writing on the backs of them. Also found my uncle’s Purple Heart from being wounded at Guadalcanal in World War Two. But we sadly trashed a lot of items or set them aside to drop off at charity. We didn’t tell mom about those items.

Mom is out of her routine and that makes her slight dementia seem much worse. We are sending her to the dining room with her friend for dinner.

Tom, Marilyn, and I will pick up Mexican food and also a bottle of wine for after dinner. This way the three of us will get time together as we need to discuss some things about mom [confused]

It was 13* this morning! That is COLD!

Nephews headed for home around 8 AM.

Baking day today. Didn't do quite as many as it seems near the Holidays not as much sells. I wonder if people do more of their own baking?

Managed to get the laundry washed & folded, except for the load of table cloths.

Put new covers on a few of the pot holders.

AK--Safe travels for you and your mom tomorrow with good test results!

Manna-- I will send warmer weather your way. In the low 50's today.

Busy day. Mom unloaded the dishwasher but the dishes hadn't been washed, so I had to go through the cabinets and drawers and find the dirty dishes and utensils.

We went grocery shopping for mom.

While my brother went to the bank I washed mom's tablecloth and a few other items. I don't know how long it had been since the sheets in the guest bedroom had been washed, but I did a load with those and remade the bed.

His wife was polishing silver.

I did squeeze in my balance exercises and feet exercises.

My brother, for some reason, had 80 pounds of ice melt that he brought to give to me. Loaded that up in the car. They gave me fresh bay leaves off their bushes, too.

So, I headed home. Filled the car with gas ($2.99 a gallon--got lucky). Unpacked and will repack to go back on Thursday.

Am grilling burgers for dinner with tossed salad and broccoli.

Then just relaxing. Haven't slept well for the last 2 nights in the that lousy bed.

hiker-who’s doing the cooking on Thanksgiving?

LymeToo-yes, ivig monthly infusions. I have the other COVID. . .Common Varible Immune Disorder.

So I got my infusion out of the way. I got the dentist out of the way. I got my LLMD appointment out of the way. Tomorrow is my last doctor.

I went for breakfast at a corner diner today. 1st time in a restaurant in 2 years! It was delicious!

On my way home, I was the only passenger on the bus so I got home in record time. The van driver was so nice, very friendly and very handsome. 🥰

Went to pharmacy to drop off scripts but they were closed, sign said lunch break.

Took dog for walk.

Got a letter saying I returned my book late and owe .50 cents and if I don’t pay within a month, they add 10.00 late fee. I’m a regular at my library so I will pay tomorrow. That means it cost the library to mail me a letter and they will break even.

Washed a load of sweats and robes. It’s all I ever wear anymore.

Baked a small chocolate cake.

Oh, got weighted today. Officially gained 7 lbs during the past 3 months. Thanks Babs. ( and choc cake and pie)

This morning cleaned out the wet, dirty straw in the chick pen. Hubby hooked the 4 wheeler up to the trailer and hauled it down to the garden. I helped him spread it on the garden.

Put nice clean straw in the pen and a pan under the water bucket to hopefully keep the the pen dry.

The first batch of chicken we hatched this spring is at the age to start laying eggs. I found a tiny egg, so one of them laid one!

Hubby put lights up on the back porch. Sonny was delighted when he saw the lights. He's working on a 4wheeler and he can see!

Did some laundry and some cleaning today.

A neighbor stopped in and we gabbed awhile.

Hiker, warmer weather will be nice! It was warmer today. Didn't think to look how warm it was. Its 43* now.

Bonnie,

Mom and I will eat in the retirement center dining room for Thanksgiving. Usually a decent meal but sadly no leftovers.

Our library did away with fines. All books are two weeks checkouts and can be renewed twice unless someone else has a hold on them. I love that.

Glad your driver gave great service and being handsome was a bonus.

I was hoping Bret would come mulch my leaves today as rain coming later in the week and getting colder again. Everyone else mulched or raked leaves on the cul-de-sac and the town trucks came by and vacuumed them up today. They probably won’t be back before the snow falls as they have 4 other large zones to get through.

Manna—I bet you are thrilled the youngsters are laying eggs!

Sorry guys, super busy lately. Please pray for me and my little momma tomorrow. We're traveling to Atlanta for her bone biopsy and I know traffic will be horrendous!

Our plan is to stop for lunch at Mom's fav Japanese restaurant close to the hospital but it all depends on how she feels. Personally I think we'll be coming straight home.

Once home I bave to cook a ham, deviled eggs and potato salad to take to my brother's. Then on TDay I'm cooking bread dressing topped with two turkey thighs and half a breast for just me, Mom and Josh for second dinner. At least that's the plan.

Wonderful to read everyone's posts!

AK--Been lifting up prayers for your mom and you today.

I slept well last night and got up pretty early. Felt pretty energetic.

I went to the grocery store and barely anyone there, so I used it as my exercise warmup and was in and out in 20 minutes.

Did my knee exercises and feet exercises.

I got my Christmas items out of storage in the basement so quite a few trips up and down the stairs. I am not ready to put them out, yet, though.

I filled the bird feeders.

Then after lunch it was like all the energy left my body. Had a bout of my myoclonic seizures, took an extra half pill of my seizure med and went to bed for 90 minutes.

Then chatted on the on the phone with a college buddy for quite a while.

Leftovers for dinner.

Then I am just going to relax tonight.

Need to get up early again tomorrow and head back to mom's for Thanksgiving. I certainly want to spend the day with her and I will stay the night, too.

ak-been thinking about you today. Hoping you had a safe journey.

hiker-you are very committed to your daily exercises. Good for you.

Today was LONG. Left @ 8:30am and didn’t get home till 3pm.
Animals were starving and the dog needed to go outside.
I was so tired.

Got everything situated. Got everyone feed.

At 5pm I was in bed. My sister called and said “Oh good, you’re home. I’m gonna stop by.” So I got out of bed and made tea. She stayed 2 hours.

I better sleep tonight because I have to be at her house @ 10am to help prepare the Thanksgiving day feast. Really looking forward to turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, fresh salad, and 3 different kinds of pies. Plus leftovers to take home.

And the Bills play tomorrow against the Lions @ 12:30 pm.
Sounds like a PERFECT day!

Friendly reminder;
Be sure to turn your bathroom scales back 15 lbs tonight.

I see that Lymenet was down for a few days.

I had Thanksgiving with my mom. We had a nice meal in the retirement center dining room with a family friend. Then as a bonus I got to see a high school friend who was there with her mom.

I exercised in the fancy exercise room there and we had appetizers for dinner.

Friday I cleaned mom’s microwave and part of the fridge, put away her laundry and then came back to my house. I ended up taking a long nap.

Today I did laundry, started writing some Xmas cards and watched football. Tonight I am reading.

Bonnie—I chuckled at turning back the bathroom scales. I may need to turn it back 20 lbs.

Here, here for turning back the scales!

Been way too busy. Next time if my Mom has a treatment or procedure we're not doing a family thing. It was hard on my Mom and me to socialize the very next day.

Mom had a bit of a complication but is doing better.

We're heading back to Atlanta on Monday so I've been trying to get the Christmas stuff up before we leave but had issues with the outdoor lights today and had to get new ones.

Also my ham and 15 bean soup I cooked for dinner was taking way to long in the crockpot so had to finish it on the stove.

My plan in Atlanta is to rest at the hotel. I was going to do some shopping but might just relax and use their gym and watch TV and read.

Talked with Josh about possibly not cooking Christmas dinner this year. It'll just be Christmas eve appetizer leftovers for the 3 of us.

Guys...I'm really tired and a bit stressed.

Josh is helping when he can. He brought a homemade apple pie tonight which was awesome. He's also going to pick me up tomorrow so we can go vote and grab takeout Mexican food for dinner. Yay!

Anyways...I can't believe it's already almost midnight. Night friends!

[group hug]
