Your confusion and frustration are understandable and unfortunatley common. Lyme can be so devistating.

The worse before getting better issue is usually because of a herx reaction to dead bacteria. Someone will come along and explain it better. But basically the dead bacteria cause pain as they break down in our bodies until we can flush them out.

Whenever there is a medication change this reaction can be worse, otherwise it is usually cyclical.

We see Dr. F .It is not uncommon for whole families to have lyme. I took my son to him for treatment, he heard what treatment I had and eventhough I was feeling good he said I still had lyme. Within a few months I relapsed. This has happened with others who have taken loved ones for treatment.

Somehow whole families become infected. Or one member is skipped. Who knows exactly why. My son and I were bitten on separate occations. I think Chris had it when we started dating and the dog picked it up along the way. My daughter does not have it. No symptoms at all.
