I see Dr M here in Colorado Springs CO. He has been pretty sick himself lately with health issues that are not directly related to Lyme disease. He suffered quite badly from Lyme himself and thats why he went into practice.
Well he is getting older and his health isn't totally great due to some lung issues from an embolism he had. He and members of his staff have tried desperately to find another dr to take over the large practice but I guess there is no interest in it. So the end of July he will be shutting down his practice.
Very discouraging. Where am I supposed to go now? Im feeling ok most days-having a bad flare up right now but its alsot that time of month. Sorry I have been a terrible poster on here lately-do think of everyone quite often though.

Hi Nancy,
I'm so sorry to hear this, both for your sake, and for others. I and others had referred someone with ALS that we suspected was Lyme to Dr. M. and he is doing so much better.
If you want info on California practitioners feel free to PM me. You could do an initial apppointment in person then do some follow-up phone consultations - some will do that for out-of-state patients.

nancy, so sorry to read about this, and most importantly HIS HEALTH IS BAD also!
what other state would you like to go to? please post in SEEKING DR. section, with the states you desire, and we'll get names off to you! Posted by sickandtiredofbeingsandt (Member # 10189) on :
Hi Nancy, I just talked to his office yesterday. I had to move my last appointments around. Anyway, I asked what is the latest on their closing and was told that Dr. M is working on a list of doctors that are willing to take his referrals. Unfortunately, they will not be in Colorado.
At this point I do not know what I will do either. I can't afford to travel very far. I was going to take abx as far as I could go with it then switch to natural remedies.
I had hoped to be on abx for at least a year, maybe two. I have been in treatment for 6 months. I might be going the natural route sooner than I anticipated if I can't find a doctor close enough to go to.
It's a wait and see situation.

Nancy, it's good for hear from you. I've been thinking about you and wondering how your tummy troubles were going. Glad to hear things are a bit better. Hope you can find a suitable LLMD to keep up the good care.
Best,
Michelle
