I've been experiencing really severe back/hip pain since Sat night. Can't get out of bed on my own. OH WAIT.. except for last night when I decided to get up on my own anyway!!
Well, I passed out. Before I went out, I signaled my husband. He found me totally out and (he said) turning blue. I "came to" with him on the phone with 911 and telling me "stay with me" over and over.
All things checked out OK and I'm back home. My BP was 77/66 when the EMT checked it. Wonder what it was when I fainted???
The joys of life.

Ughh! That sucks. I hope you feel better!
So no one has any idea what is going on with you??
Posted by just don (Member # 1129) on :
I thought of you when I saw an infomercial of a special chair that corrects back and siatica pain.
I forgot the name of the web site. It sort of looks like a saddle and really helps balance and back alignment
Has anyone else seen it? Must be new,,,only saw it once
Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
I don't know, skies. They checked my BP while lying down, sitting, standing. The dr didn't say if the difference was significant or not.
My BP has been dropping to the 80's and sometimes 70s. I'm on Verapamil for my heart. Will see cardiologist in two weeks.
The back stuff started in May when I tried to lift something too heavy for me. I injured my neck as well. I'm supposed to be doing traction at home and now I can't since I can't get on the floor.
Don.. haven't seen that. Today is the first day I could even sit for more than a minute.
grrrrrr

I am sorry to hear this and I pray you didn't hurt yourself on the way down. I hope you find the cause of this also.
My biggest fear (well, one of them) is that I will pass out on the toilet. My kids are under strict orders to make sure I am clothed before they call 911 if that ever happens!!!
Take care....
Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
Yes, ate enough food .. even ate some chicken with bedtime meds. No chiro anymore. He made me worse and I can't take the chance again.
Iron levels were checked in May, so OK there.
mom2kids.. Weird thing is that I felt woozy, so I closed the toilet seat and sat down. When I came to, I was still sitting there!! How did I go out but was not on the floor??
And I want you to know that I had on some fashionable pj's. So all was good there! Whew!!
The ER dr told me next time if I felt I was going to faint, to get on the floor so I wouldn't hurt myself. I'm thinking... "Then how would I get UP again!!??"

You said "Iron levels were checked in May" - a lot can change quickly.
Is anyone doing a full workup on you Tutu?
Posted by sutherngrl (Member # 16270) on :
Thats a scary episode!
I use to take medication for my heart(mitral valve prolapse), and it made my blood pressure very low. I walked around always about to pass out. I finally quit taking it. Maybe you just need to have a change in your med.
Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
Well, I've had an echo, heart stress test, full metabolic panel, tests for kidneys and bladder last night, all kinds of stuff in the past few months.

- - Fashionable PJ's, but slightly hairy legs (arrghh!.. thanks back pain!) and dirty hair since I couldn't even get in the shower on Sunday. I hate that!! We MUST be fashionable when showing up in the ER!!! Posted by momintexas (Member # 23391) on :
And everything came back normal last night?
I sure hope one of the Dr's can find some answers for you.
Posted by just don (Member # 1129) on :
TuTu, I did that once too. Dont know if I was out even. Sat down to rest with lid closed.
Felt it coming on and did summon my eldest daughter from upstairs.
She took me 15 miles to ER but they said fainting is a common prob,,,everybody does it.
Sent me home. As I recall that was one of my first symptoms I remember when I got pretty sick.
My faint came and went within 5 or 10 minutes.
When I was a child I fainted a couple times,,,usually when it was really warm,,,hot,,,no air then and no help,,,once was in church.
Glad you survived so well and feel pretty well back to normal. Next time I see that commercial I will write it down or email you pronto.
It really made sense and didnt cost much and very durable

Texas Women are Tuff.. Glad to hear you are home, no place like home... and the full moon is to blame?? sorry, you aren't finding an answer.. I know we think lyme is the culprit to all health issues... Heres hopeing you get back on your horse soon and happy trails to you, The Lord was close to you.. Glory to Him.. blessing to you, wayne Posted by randibear (Member # 11290) on :
lor honey, i'm glad you're alright. that blood pressure is way tooooo low.
chuck the chiro. they can mess you up big time especially if you've damaged any nerves or discs in your back.
remember tho staying in bed cause your back to actually stiffen up so slight exercise is the key.
lately i wash my hair every two days. and as mom said always have on clean panties just in case you have an accident and have to go the er.
i sure hope you get better. ain't no fun being sick is it.
Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
Thanks don, I'd appreciate that!!
Payne... I LOVE Texas stars!! I've never seen one painted like that! It is awesome!!
randi .. I do have bulging discs, spurs, and flattening of the spinal cord, so no more chiros.
momintx.. all the stuff they did last night was OK
the EMT said my blood was coagulating as he was drawing it. Not good!
Posted by lpkayak (Member # 5230) on :
i was wondering where you were
it sounds very scarey to me and:
"Life Alert is for sissies and old people. "
YOU KNOW THIS IS NOT TRUE
have you had PT for the sciatica? mini crunches even when in bed are the only thing that prevent me from getting it when i am in the hosp for days
when i walk-automatically tucking under and tightening abs seems to keep it from coming back the nest day
but when bedbound the mini crunches work for me
i never said anything b4 cuz i figured someone must have told you...
you know about the bulges etc...but has anyone checked to see about pinched nerves?
but it does sound like two separate problems...and the fainting is a huge issue and you need Life Alert. Now.
take care i really hope you figure it out soon.
Posted by Tincup (Member # 5829) on :
OH NO!
Sorry to hear you were in the duck motel! Poor dear! NOT fun! Glad you are home now.
Are you drinking some green tea to thin that blood down a bit? Decaf of course.
It has helped me with the thick blood. Too bad it doesn't work for a thick head or we would both be in luck!
May you feel better soon TuTu! Fingers crossed and prayers for you!
And I might even rub a rabbits foot for good luck for you! But last time I did that, the darn rabbit bit me!
Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
I know, kayak... I was just making a joke!! LOL
My hip was so bad on Sunday that I couldn't get online.. could not sit. Talk about going through withdrawal!!
Hmm.. green tea, huh? It would have to be decaffeinated for me.

Geez Toots, What a way to spend the day! NOT!! Wondering if your b/p could have dropped from the verapamil.
Sure has a lot of serious side effects. Glad you are home and okay. BTW, A trick I learned to get dirty hair to feel decent, is to put some baby powder in tit, and brush though. Hope you feel better kiddo.

Thanks, gael... I'll talk to my cardiologist again next week. I think since my A-fib is doing well, they don't want to mess with a 'good thing.'
Posted by sk8ter (Member # 8671) on :
Sounds like POTs and you need a cardio or a endo that knows how to treat or manage it. Vanderbilt university is one of the only hospitals that actually treats this..You can google it

Okay, that looks like a sign of hypercoagulation.
Are you taking systemic enzymes and fish oil for that? Those will reduce hypercoagulation and also reduce inflammation, which may help the back pain.
I'm sorry that you're feeling so poorly.
Posted by lpkayak (Member # 5230) on :
i meant to say something about the thick blood...dr c addresses that right? what does he do? thats one think i havent had to deal with...i'm the opposite...maybe cuz of ibu

I'll be praying that God will guide your doctor's to treat you well and help you feel better soon.

Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
Yes, I have been doing nothing for the hypercoagulation which was diagnosed 10-11 yrs ago. I used to be on heparin therapy, then lumbrokinase.
I have such stomach issues with most enzymes. I do take plenty of fish oil.

thanks, sammi!
Posted by glm1111 (Member # 16556) on :
Didn't see that about the hypercoagulation. Is it possible that Lyme and co is rearing it's ugly head?
When I first went to my LLMD, my blood was clotting very badly in the tube. Got better when he put me on abx. Worried about you. Maybe get retested?

Gosh I am so sorry that happened.

I am saying a prayer for you to get the right help and answers so you can mend . Thanks for all of the encouragement you give to us here. It is invaluable . REALLY .
I pray you quickly have better days.
Posted by 2roads (Member # 4409) on :
....ye, it's the turning blue part that's got me too.
What up with that?
I think we oughta open up our own Medline, 'cause everyone is pipin' up with great diagnostic thoughts. If blue is an issue, something is impeding blood flow to the brain, hence fainting.
You do need to retrace your steps Tutu.
So sorry to hear of what happened. Can't imagine my friend passed out on the floor.
Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
Yeah, I need to ask him about that so I know what to tell my doctors next week. I do know that when your BP is too low, the blood flow to your body is impeded .. esp the brain.
My BP likely went below 77/66 because that is what it was after the EMT's got there and I had come to.
Hubby did indeed feel helpless. Like Six told me though, Lymie husbands are tough! They've seen just about everything! Posted by map1131 (Member # 2022) on :
OMG. I'm so sorry I didn't realize you were hitting the floor. How horrible.
Lyme husbands do have to witness far too much and hear us too. I hope you find out something soon.
Something to explain the low bp and the fainting? Sounds like whatever is causing the pain is controlling lots of things.
I hope your good doctor has some ideas what's happening. I'll pray for his recognizing the culprit and his ability to get you back in better health.
Stay off the floor Tutu. Crawl or scoot yourself around. No walking allowed unless you know you're better.

Oh my gosh!!! Thank God you are okay! How terrifying!!!
I have a Life Alert...but I never, ever wear it! I probably should. I have such an aversion to all these assistive devices and things! I hate needing them! I've told my state social worker to take it back several times. But she won't!

I haven't been on here in a while and just saw this. Praying for you!! You need to be well because we all need you around here.
Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
Thanks you two!
Saw my internist yesterday and he reviewed the hospital info and said, "That is scary!" I think mainly because this happened for "no apparent reason."
He said it was probably my heart. Totally freaked my husband out now because the ER dr acted like "Oh, people faint all the time, etc." That had calmed him down, since he said he felt so totally helpless that night. I can imagine.
I will see my cardiologist on Monday.
Anyone know why I would have had a high WBC count???? It was 10+ ..
Posted by glm1111 (Member # 16556) on :
A high WBC would indicate an infection. Sounds like you might need some abx. Possibly could be Lyme and co rearing it's ugly head. Maybe a good idea to see your LLMD. What do you think?
Gael
Posted by lpkayak (Member # 5230) on :
i thought high wbc was clearly infection and wonder why any doc would not put you on abx right away
maybe cuz you recovered so well? still.
i'm thinking about you alot. let us know what is going on.
guess we better send "hang-in there" prayers to your hubby too. it must be very scarey for him
Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
I can't take abx "just because" anymore. My yeast is too bad. They checked me for a bladder infection and checked my kidney function. All OK.
No point in seeing LLMD if I can't take abx. When I Rife I do not herx anymore. When I HAVE taken abx, I don't herx either. I feel OK other than my injured back.

Tutu, let me know if you need some different freqs to try. The rife thread does have some really good freqs that I found helpful when the same old lyme & co freqs didn't do anything also.
I know it's hard for you to sit and research much. So I thought maybe I could shorten your time at the computer?
Take care.

So sorry to hear you're going through this.
With the hypercoagulation, it sure sounds like lyme IS suspect.
I had been going through a period of low bp. 98/58. I find that drinking a quarter tsp of himalayan salt in a glass of water several times throughout the day helps.
When the nurse took bp two weeks ago she looked shocked, but MD didn't say anything.
Hope they figure all this out and you get some pain relief soon!
