I haven't been on here in a long time. It was about a year ago that I discovered this site which led to me finding an LLMD. Each visit was a 400+ mile round trip but worth it. That was my turning point. Prior to that my local MDs scheduled the usual 10 minute in & out consultations an performed many tests that resulted only in me writing a bunch of checks. I presented my laundry list of symptoms in writing with a timeline showing how it was progressing. The only explanation that I could find that fit with what I was experiencing was neurological Lyme and/or the associated co-infections. Negative results on an Elisa test led my local MD to cross Lyme off as a possibility. By that time the MD had agreed to give me 2 weeks of ABX on which I experienced worse symptoms then some improvement. My cognitive ability has degraded so much at that point that I could not pay attention to what was happening around me, I could not follow a simple conversation. I was dangerous behind the wheel of a car & ran a red light without even knowing it, backed into my own trailer in the driveway. I missed appointments daily because I lost track of time. I had trouble navigating my way through a WalMart without bumping into someone. My energy level had decreased to the point that I would get home and just sit in a chair until it was time to go to bed. My hearing was dim, my vision blurred and There was constant pain in my head & eyes. My breathing was labored. My local MD declared that I was fine. At that point in desperation I started treating myself with ABX purchased online out of India, taking the gamble of second guessing the medical professionals. Had I not found a LLMD through the help of this site I believe I would have lost my job within 2 months as it was obvious that I could no longer function. 12 months later, 7 months on assorted ABX, my life is back. Brain function 9+ out of 10. I have been building an addition on the house on weekends, manual labor sunrise to sunset & feel fine. Put a roof on it last weekend. Heavy lifting all day requiring constant focus to avoid a fall. Remaining problems: continuous ringing in one ear and poor vision. I believe these are permanent. I am writing this for those out there who are looking for information to make their own decisions. This is one story. You are not alone.

Good news! Glad you are about back to normal and within in a year instead of years. We are fortunate to have a good doctor guiding our treatment. You were very brave.

Stay healthy!
