So I bought a large jar of Turmeric at the market and it doesn't have the taste I wanted. Really needed Curry powder.

Is there any reason this would not be a good idea. I take the Turmeric capsules now. Would like Curcumen but it's too expensive.

I can get the capsules from my druggist There are no other ingredients listed.

Why bother with it when you can get it this cheap?

Most herbal powder concentrates and many (cooler) spices can easily be taken just in water - and swallow.

I've taken a tsp. (or two) of turmeric in a glass of water on and off for years. Works just fine.

I do chase with more clear water - and maybe a bit of food, though, just to settle it. It's not hot but it's also not the smoothest taste experience.

It can be mixed into food, but, concentrated, I'd go for the "just do it" approach with a little food - and then follow with the rest of the food that is seasoned to your liking.

IMO, it can a waste of time to encapsulate turmeric - and it's not much of a therapeutic dose that way. I need much more if it's just turmeric.

The "extract" (stronger form) Curcumin would be a different dose, of course.

Oh, thank you so much Keebler! I had put it on the back burner as it was a daunting task to do the capsules.

I just now took your advice and put 1 tsp in a glass of water...not bad and mixes well.

Had to take a cough drop afterward, next time I will take it with a meal.

Thanks again for your help Keeb! You're the best!
