This happened to me yesterday......
It's so hot and dry that the buy 5 for .99 corn bin had only 2 whole ears of corn. The rest were those funny drought looking half ears. Posted by just don (Member # 1129) on :
okay folks, new email is up and going,,,
if you had my old one and even want(Gee I am wanted) a new one guess have to pm me.
Posted by just don (Member # 1129) on :
saw where cows were giving dehydrated milk.
Then saw racoons heading to the sweetcorn patch,,,,with lunch boxes.
Heard two trees were fighting over "Maddog"
Weather said a cold front moved thru yesterday,,,it did,,,was only 100 degrees out,,,,true story there.
Another true story---couple days ago it was so hot and dry the fly's were somehow crawling thru my sliding glass door. If it leaks flies in summer,,,cant wait for winter

Yes, we had a cool front yesterday and it's predicted to be 100 today. Yeah, REALLY cool.

Please explain "hot" and "dry" to those of us in the Pacific NW. We do not know these words.
Off to wring out my fleece and scrape the mud off my boots for another cold, wet day.
Ahhhhh...July.

Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
EEK!! It will be a big bill, won't it, kayak!??
It was 108 today. We are at least 10 inches behind on rain.

We've got a high today of 115 so yeah, not planning on staying out much! I have to water what little grass we have for 1 hr in the mornings and it's still turning yellow. Of course the weeds are green! I need to go to grocery store so I'll be heading off soon for that. I won't risk going after noon. When I get out in the afternoons I am soaked in sweat from just getting in and out of car and store.
I look like I've been out digging ditches or something, like that's even a possibility.
This little "hellhole" of a town is always the hot spot of anywhere around here..yes, we are that lucky..
Anyway, to another day of surviving the heat!! cheers~

Its so hot and dry that-------my mud boots dry rotted
Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
It was only 98 yesterday. Felt balmy!! Posted by linky123 (Member # 19974) on :
Our grass is so fried it goes 'snap, crackle, pop' when we walk on it.

Last Saturday I came out of the grocery store. It was hot and such a change of temperature. I wiped my forehead and a young lady rushed up to me and asked if I needed help, I didn't look so good.
I thanked her and said it was just so hot.
I think it was because I had forgot "mother's law" I did not have lipstick on....
I am over the heat now.

Respectfully, Dogs... it's not that hot in CA. How hot was it, 88 degrees?? Posted by Elaine G (Member # 20735) on :
People alway say, "I won't move to Florida, too hot and humid".
I guess Florida is starting to look good, about now. Best thing is south Florida doesn't get snow !!
Low 90's, breezes and daily afternoon showers.
Sorry, I couldn't resist.
Our dogs can pee where ever they want.
Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
Maybe South Florida is better, but I thought I was going to die in the Orlando area. Even Houston was better than that!!
Posted by Elaine G (Member # 20735) on :
Lymetoo You need to be near the water in Florida. Nice breezes.
Posted by linky123 (Member # 19974) on :
We just returned from vacation in Florida. High 80's and a breeze along with it - just beautiful.
Back to reality, landlocked and 100 degrees. Posted by kam (Member # 3410) on :
Posted by surprise (Member # 34987) on :
Lymetoo, my part of California we are in the middle of 106 degree week!
But no humidity.
Sorry, no clever sayings, I'm rather fried.
Posted by just don (Member # 1129) on :
Once again Kam comes up with best graphics on how hot is it
Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
That's hilarious, kam! Can you put that on Facebook?
It's been in the 80's here for several days. A few more to come.
--Thanks, Elaine.

True story.....on the news tonight the weatherman said it is so dry in western Ks that we have a chance of thunder. Guess what we got.... thunder and not a drop of rain.

Yeah, it was "hot" here - the sun was out. That was before the fog came in.
I think to get away from all your heat, y'all should plan a N CA visit, now!
Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
Robin.. what is "hot?"
cozy... that is really weird! I've never heard of that! Wow!
