After eating I normally get tired. It happened when I was taking doxycycline and when I wasn't. I realized that after eating, if I iced my heart or chest, I feel alot better. Icing any inflamed area generally helps and should make you feel better. Icing the heart definitely helps before exercise.

Ice may be too much of a shock for a heart -- not sure just how cold that is or if moderate the temperature with a towel.

I'm glad it seems to help you - however - I would stop and check with your LLMD about this, though, because in Burrascano's guidelines he stresses: NO ICE for any kinds of PT treatments.

I am not positive but think I recall having read that ice can irritate spirochetes (just as heat can) and then they want to burrow deeper or go into cyst form to get away from the extreme temperature change.

Talk to your LLMD about what is going on and the best ways to approach that.

DOXYCYLINE: did you / do you always stay upright for a full hour after taking it? If you must rest, sit in a tall back chair and put your feet up but the TORSO must remain upright for an hour.

The heart pain could be referred pain from all kinds of other tissue in the chest. And liver and stomach issues can cause pain around the heart area, too.

UPLEDGER INSTITUTE - VISCERAL manipulation may be of help. Just Google their name to find someone trained near you.

GENTLE YOGA might help to open up tissue tightness. See detail in Cardiac thread below.

HEAT ISSUES? Might the ice feel so good and help because it's been a long hot summer and you are getting too hot?

If so, put ice (but not ice-ice, a blue ice wrapped in a paper towel so not too cold) on your your neck arteries, inside wrists and other places that can send cooler blood to your body. You may need to consult an anatomy chart.

Many with lyme have heat intolerance and keeping cool is vital.

I wonder what your heart thinks about the icing??

I find one of those 'cool gel' packs, (put it in the freezer, but it's still jelly when it is frozen), really helps my head pressure on days when I get overheated.

I have a long, thin one that I wrap in a purple leopard print scarf, and tie it around my head a la Rambo.

The bigger one I put on the back of my neck with a tea towel.

They do help a lot.

Ummm not something I would do. I have bad palpitations and I would think the shock of something cold would just send somebody into cardiac arrest.
