Bright red Honda Prelude--year 2000. Died in the Honda parking lot today when I was test driving a CRV. I may be buying a new car sooner than I thought.
I have had three Honda's and love them.

Two of my friends have Honda CRV's. I like them because they are easy to get into but still an SUV.
I have a 2003 Lincoln Town Car (kind of a taupe color). Bought it 2 yrs ago with only 52,000 miles on it!
Now it has 72,000 miles on it! Nice smooth ride for traveling long distances. We drive to Texas twice a year and I can't make it in a tiny car.
PS .. It averages 25 mpg on the highway!
Hubby has a little Toyota Scion. He loves it!

Either the riding mower in the summer or a Suzuki King Quad in the winter. Only on our property.

I have one of these in my garage trying to get running again. It was bought brand new by my grandpa. Cept its a 2 door in dark blue color of the day. It has less than 56K actual miles
And just for driving to work, kick around, hauling lumber and building materials and tools. It is my oldie and has about 108K miles,,,pretty low for a 97

A couple of years ago I said to let me try driving as we were on back roads going to a small rural shopping area.
He let me and on our way down a road, I asked how I was doing. He put his feet on the dash bracing himself and said. GREAT honey!
He was kidding. That was until we came to the stop light and I had to ask him if I should stop or go. Thank God I'm better than that now.

Everybody knows that you can tell a lot. About a person by the car and what color it is. PersonAlly I believe it also shows the stage of lyme you are in and what it has done to your finances.
You can learn a lot from these choices.
And besides its nice once in awhile to not have to ***** and moane about lyme all the time.
I can talk cars all day. Take after my daddy that way.
Its either talk about football or ranching or hunting so its nice to have something else to hear about.

I learned a lot from my marine husband and not all good either. Husband says I could embarass any sailor or I would make a good gunny. Thats gunnery sergeant. I could hold my own with r lee ermey....

This is actually an interesting thread.
FWIW my last very favorite car was a Jetta. Loved it but had to trade it in for a truck (GMC) to be able to pull a horse trailer. Had to sell the truck last year because I had to stop driving. I miss that old beater......
My sister is my designated driver to doctors in town. I was thrilled to learn that she had bought a brand new Jetta. Yeah - another Jetta in the family. But then horrors - I realized "new" meant new car smell. Chemicals.
When it had finally "outgassed" enough for me to tolerate being in it - I realized her Jetta is nothing like mine was. It's real loud - the motor? - and on the freeway or at higher speeds it has a loud high-pitched sound - the tires or motor?
And the worst - the seats are leather or whatever. It's awful to be a passenger in pain - and slide around in the seat. Turns. Stop and go. I dread riding in that car. I feel absolutely beaten up by the time we get home.
The last in town jaunt - I began to fondly remember the Cadillac she used to have. Gotta say - those kinds of cars have their purposes - they are smooth and comfortable.
I had forgotten about that. My Dad always had a Cadillac and when he got a new one - someone in the family got his "old" one. Well I never did -no way was I going to be seen pulling a stock trailer with a Cadillac. Just not done! I felt Ellie Mae Clampett enough as it was - hauling horses in a stock trailer - especially when one of the goats that wanted to go everywhere with my horse would get in the trailer and not get out. I used to say - all I need is a rocking chair to lash on the top.
I do miss that last Cadillac. Dang.

I hear ya, susan! We used to drive to Texas in my husband's old Cadillac. We bought it used too. It was great until it got too many miles on it.

I can't believe the things I could do in the past.
I never thought I would own a truck and surely not a horse trailer - and have the nerve to actually haul my own horse somewhere.
I had dabbled in dressage for years on my trail horse. Had dreams of doing endurance. As if! and that was when I was relatively well.
Anyway - bought truck and trailer to haul to forests to ride. Friend drove. Friend moved. Yikes.
I had also recently bought a very talented dressage pony. Somehow he had ended up in a bad place - starved etc. I saw him, recognized him and bought him for $450. A tiny little gray Arabian - perfect for tiny me.
A talented horse meant lessons. We had to get there. I had to drive. Me and my stock trailer with my little pone (and sometimes a goat) - arriving for lessons or weekend clinics or shows -alongside big named folks/horses with their fancy rigs.
But dang - the little pone could do it - and we did well in shows. Many blue ribbons. The tiniest horse wherever we went. Maybe 14 hands with shoes on.
So one weekend I would do something "cultured" like dressage and the next weekend hit the trails.
When I got sick I had to give all that up. Many times I looked at my horse trailer and thought - well if things get really bad I'll just have to live in it.
No more truck or trailer - but I still have a horse. Some days I can even get on him and we just mosey around the property at a walk.

Anyway, the car I'd LIKE to be driving is a Ford Thunderbird, my favorite car of all time. That, or a Mustang.
Nowadays I drive an SUV that I love. It replaced the minivan (SO glad THOSE days are over).
The minivan replaced a beautiful silver Ford Taurus sedan with black leather interior.
We bought the Ford when my Honda Civic was stolen. My Honda Civic was the first car I bought on my own. It replaced my '66 Rambler. That Rambler was a beauty. They sure don't make cars like that anymore.

I'm still here - putting off getting in the shower - because it's so cold. We might get a "winter mix" tonight in Houston.
In the interim I "did" a Bicillin injection.
My first car - well I paid for half - my Dad paid the other half - was a Couger - white leather (?) interior. It was a couple of years old when I got it - either my jr. or sr. year in college - late 70's.
I'll never forget - driving home for the weekend. The Coug. let me down. Dad had bought a house in a fancy subdivision. Just as I pulled up to the enrance/guardhouse/whatever the muffler blew on the Coug. (I think I had to convince the guard that I actually lived there).... Boom boom boom boom boom all the way to our house. I didn't know anyone in the new subdivision - but felt sure they all suddenly knew me. What an entrance.
One of these days we should have a topic "what kind of horse do you have or want?".
Oh, back to horses; I had custom made boots - for someone else. They fit me perfectly as long as I pulled them on first thing in the morning. Any later in the day - no go. So I drove to shows with my boots already on.
They were really nice boots - but alas they were lace-up "field" boots for foxhunting - I guess. Thank goodness the laces were not that obvious - because for dressage one should wear "dress" boots.
Hopefully everyone was busy looking at my adorable pony and not my boots. Or the (new) hunt cap on my head that would only fit/stay on if I wore a bandana underneath it - discreetly.

1994 Dodge ram diesel 4x4 for trips.
1986 nissan D21 with a chevette diesel turbocharged for 34 MPG.
1968 Chevy C10 step side 350 ponies for a fun truck.Has been under restoration for years.
1998 Kia sportage 4x4 for a winter car.Keeps the above out of the salt in the winter.I do not recommend this car for someone who is not a Mechanic.It is an addict,it allways needs a FIX.
Buying the parts for these is killing me!!!!!

Oh, way back when I was quite young and broke, a VW baby blue station wagon that required me to sit on a phone book
to drive, and, had no reverse! Talk about creative parking. Paid a couple hundred bucks for it.
Flash forward 10 years from that, self made career gal, walked into a Mercedes dealership and paid cash for one of their new silver cars.
Those days are over, and ironically now I've got the mini- van with all the kids to go with it. Still not sure how me and all these kids happened.
Grateful to drive. Although I don't really care for it (driving) anymore, and can't remember the last time I did it at night.

One of our friends has a.ranch in wyoming. Its 31000 acres...huge...but they raise cattle and horses. We spend a lot of the summer up there with them. I love it.

We own 2 Ford SUVs. One '02 & '12. Ford will never get a dime of our money again. I'm posting this just so I can bash them.
The '02 Explorer should have been a major recall for 2 major faults. Rear end suspension, big bucks and transmission failure, big bucks. The web is lit up with unhappy Explorer folks during those years.
It has 115,000 miles on it and we will drive that SOB until it dies....then buy Toyota, Chevy, Kia, Honda.
I let my union hubby (brother works at local Ford plant too) talk me into the '12 Escape. Never ever again.
Black and grey....what's that say about me besides I'm driving grandmother vehicles?
If someone offers you a free Ford Explorer, don't take it unless the big parts have been rebuilt or replaced. Then risk the SUV.

My husband and I share a 2010 silver Nissan Sentra.
I love Nissans.
He had a 1997 Chevy Blazer before Lyme. We sold it to lower our living expenses to be able to better afford treatment.
map: Chevy Blazers should be on the same list as your Ford. His doors started falling off and we were told that was a common ocurrance with that model!!!

My first car was a blue vw...it had the small window in the back...i bought it in 66 or 67 and i think it was a 56 or 57
To start it i had to get it rolling down hill, jump in and pop the clutch. Sometimes if there wasnt a hill i sort of peddled it like a scooter til i could jump in and pop it
I remember wanting a charger but that never happened
I had a series of f-150 s then when older and needing a smaller truck i got a silverado work truck and then last year when my body really started fslling apart i got the taco
The 20 yrs i commuted to work ihad sentras and loved them...except the red one...i totaled that one and never bought red again
Horses another time...but i started hunter/jumper, then to centered riding and ended up dressage. I never showed above 2 nd level...i taught hundreds of kids to ride

I learned to drive in an old Volkswagon that my brother had. It was about the same make as yours, kayak. Loved that car!
I took my test in a small Oldsmobile station wagon that my dad bought used. It was GREAT for parallel parking because you could see exactly how far to go in reverse.
It was a cute little car. I have no idea what it was called. They didn't make them for very long. (60's model)

First car ever 1965 Pontiac Catalina...given to me by a friend...drove and rode like a dream.
Now I have a Suzuki Sx4...red crossover...it is a miniature...adorable car...surprisingly, I get many comments on it.
Most favorite car was my 1990 Chevy Celebrity station wagon...seating for 8...my kids loved it too cause I could haul a pack of kids.

Before I got sick I was looking at cars. I couldn't decide if I wanted a convertible or a truck.
Then, I got sick and ended up with a convertible. (power chair)
I had to sell my car in 2001.
A friend got a new car and gave me her old car in 2007.
It is a 93 Nissan Pathfinder with over 200,000 miles on it.
It has been very good to me and is good medicine. I don't drive far. Usually just the 3 miles out to the trailhead in the forest to let Rosie have some off leash time.
It is beautiul out there.

I have a 2008 Toyota 4Runner Sport Edition 4x4.. Dark gray metallic.. Still like brand new, only 39K miles on it. I absolutely love it.
Hubby has a 2009 Toyota Tacoma (Taco.. haha).. extended cab, dark green. You can't beat those trucks. It is his second, and I also owned 2 in the past, before I got the runner. We like Toyotas, as you can see.

Skies-before i bought the taco i talked a lot online to ppl on a fiberglass rv site...many on there said the same as you-cant Beat them. They wont pull a heavy camper a long way but i know a guy in texas who pulls a stock trailer local with a taco
This time i got the extended cab-i figure this is my last vehicle and wanted the seats for grand kids to come. I used to always get regular cabs
Whenever i went back to a car i ended up treating it like a truck. Once i brought 40 2x4s home 30 miles thru the mts in a vibe.

We also have a Honda Silver Wing. It's a big fancy scooter. (yes, we're getting old)
Hubby had Yamaha's and Honda's for years. Sold our last Gold Wing in the mid 90's after I had to quit teaching.
I can't ride anymore and he wanted something to "mess around with" .. (heehehe) I didn't want him to get it, but you know how men are!
