Lp reports that the blizzard winds are picking up and it is supposed to be very cold there tonight. Sending prayers her way.
Slept in a bit and made my big dinner my breakfast--LOl.
Rode the exercise bike and then got on the rowing machine. It almost threw me off when the rubber wheels broke and got stuck in the tracks. I think it is nearing the end of its long life.
Now watching Illini basketball (getting creamed by Wisconsin).
Tutu--looks like you are in for some heavy wet snow.
Blessings to all this week.

I am walking my dog today, as far as I can go. I'm staying with a friend near Boston, so got hit pretty hard with snow.
Going to do yoga as well. The stretching really seems to help. I have a lot of muscle and nerve pain, so 20 mins is about my limit.

Well, supposedly it will be fairly dry snow though the moisture is coming from the south. They said it would be blowing around. We'll see!
Right now they are saying 5-7 inches .. but they expect bands with double digits. They don't seem to know where those bands will be.
I'm thrilled to see what my new back yard will look like with snow! All we've had is less than an inch all year.
It won't begin until about 7 pm. tonight.
I think kayak is OK... just COLD!

Had a bad dream last night. Reminded me to not ask for help as it makes things worse.
But, then again, I have had people help me who have made things better.
Can not see screen on desk top so typing with eyes closed.
It helps me to think via the keyboard so trrying to sort things out.
Took 2 excedrin at 6 am. Eyes open at 5 am Cat running back and forth on bed this am. Found an opportunity to pick her up and put her outside when I got up.
Not doing well enough to go to door and have her look out and then run back in and then a few minutes later have her want out again and maybe go out or maybe run back in.
So she is out this am.
Brain is not clear. Tried to ut expried food in trash this am but struggling to much so kstopped.
Stressing over the trip to the Lyme Doc tomorrow. Need to get groceries. Need to pack things in case I have to stay over night due to health.
It is only an hour and a half trip so should be able to go down and back.
Lady from the senior center siad she would take me. But, they said they are taking the van and I would need to lay down in the seat in the very back of the van with the middle seats folded down.
I told them I needed to recline in the passenger seat as I get car sick so hoping tha works out.
Not all vans have a seat you can recline in the passenger seat.
I find vans to be the most uncomfortable and bad for the sound sensitivity..even with ear plugs and ear protection muffs the road noise is bad.
I learned it is better with just the ear plugs and tha for some reason the ear protection muffs maek the road noise worse.
So concerned about the choics of vehicle. At first they said they would be taking a regular car.
Thankful for the ride but need a vehicle I can travel in and get there without making health too sick to get there.
Bad feeling about this.
So what now. I guess next step is to get up and get dressed and see if I can get some groceries fo r trip and for home.
Then PT to see abut getting a new power chair.
Then fill out more of the doctor's forms when able and see if I can find the LYME TAP application I started to fill out
And see about packing for trip.
I did OK in the van tha twas provided to drive me down the hill to see the audiologist. I was able to just drive my large power chair on it and lay in it. But, that was years ago when heatlh was better.
This was not a van from the senior center but one used to transport people to doctors by the insurance.
Since this is an out of pocket doc I dont' think insurance will provide transportation. I also do not not if medicare provides transportation and the advanatage plan I have.
I will look into it when I need to I know last year I looked into it when I just had medicare and I would nee dto ocme up with my percentage which was too costly
Also hoping that this is money well spent and the doc is able to help me within the resources I have.
Primary care doc said she would work with the Lyme Doc.
It was a choice to get small power chair fixed or see lyme specialist with the funds i have.
I choose to see the lyme specialist.

Able to take a shower last night. So much easeier when I was able to take a bath at the hotel vs the shower here at the apartment.
I go days without being able to get clean here at the apartment.
The hotel was easy peasy. I could take a bath every night if I wanted to for the most part.

7 am got the short list for groceries done for caregiver. Sure hope she gets it right this time.
Made detox tea. Able to write check to store for caregiver.
Able to find checks as it was my last one. So nice to find the box of checks in the first place i checked.
Rosie giving me the look so going to put coat over pj's and take her out.
I am like a high strung horse this am. Hate it when patiences is so low.

Good morning! I can feel your stress over here, kam. Hope things will work out for that trip.
We have snow.. not sure how much ..maybe 5-6 inches and more to come. Maybe I can step outside to measure the front later. Can't measure the back which is the north side.
It's pretty, but not as pretty as our old apartment...However, I'm not going back!!
We may not be able to get out for days. We'll see. I just saw the snowplow go up our hill so there is hope. I don't think I have enough safe food for me, but we have food.

7:30 am Got rosie out. Need to go back and pick up deposit when able.
Body in more pain than normal. resting now. Then time to dress and go to PT
Found drivers license and another care of some sort. Need to get it back in wallet.
Posted by kam (Member # 3410) on :
OK able to get dressed and get to PT place across the street in large power chair.
A bit confused. Hope I do not get a large co pay as the clerk said. They acted as if they did not know i had Phoenix Health CAre plan as my advantage plan with medicare.
Even though I went home last time to get the cards they needed to make copies of and make the appt.
Not even sure why I saw the PT guy for the power chair. I would think the power chair business would be the best people to evaluate which power chair would work best for me.
Maybe it is just part of the process. PT clerk said she didn't think they were the right place and then talked with Jared, the PT guy.
he said yes he would do measurements for a chair.
But, no measurements were taken today.
Good news is I survived the 30 min eval. Which was your usual in the insurance box eval.
OK What now. Resting.
Recovering.
Hoping I do not have a large co pay and the appt benefits me more than it does the PT place.
Not even sure phx advantage covers power chairs not able to read manual on it nor call them.
Not sure what next step is.
Ah yes. EAt and take meds.

Dr's apptm is tomorrow?

Kam--I know how important this LLMD appointment is tomorrow for you.
Whether it is a van or a car that gets you there, you will get there!! Ask to sit up front in the passenger seat of the van if it reclines.
Take a plastic bag in case you get car sick. You need this appointment!

Did a lot on Saturday. Went to the bank and the grocery store in the a.m. Dusted, vacuumed, wiped down bathrooms and did laundry.
Hubs and I had a Valentine's feast. Got steak and shrimp ready for the grill. Julienned squash and zucchini, made buttered, parsley red potatoes, sautéed some mushrooms in butter, wine and parsley. For dessert I bought chocolate covered strawberries.
Had to do my ironing this morning before I came to work but it was worth putting it off until today.
I actually cleaned off my stair climber to use Saturday but hurt my knee turning to quickly in the kitchen. Yes, I have a cooking injury. How sad. So am babying knee until it gets better.
Have a great day everyone!

AK--Your Valentine's feast sounds wonderful!
I have the day off work today, so I slept in a teeny bit. I went for a 30 minute walk outside.
Enough snow has melted that I can walk on the sidewalks in the neighborhood again, but I froze my fingers even though I wore mittens. Did 30 minutes, though.
I may be one of the few places in the nation that is not getting snow or ice right now. But we go back into the deep freeze soon.
Off to the library and I will spend the afternoon reading. That's what days off are for.

caregiver came at 11 am after i sent her a text. she was supposed to show up at 8 am
wtg for her to get back from the store. only had a few things for her to pick up.
next step is to eat lunch....and take meds. and wait for health to get well enough i can finish filling out the forms and hopefully find the lyme tap forms
bad attitude today. i should be happy i am finally seeing a llmd but concerned things will not go well because i will not have the funds needed
concerned tha thealth will also get worse from teh trip. thinking negative..hoping my thinking will be better when i am doing better

You're making progress, kam... We'll all pray for you tonight and tomorrow... You'll make it!!
randi.. 35 is too cold for walking!
All is fine here.. everything we were supposed to do today was canceled. . . as well as a few things tomorrow.
Our Talent Night was supposed to be tonight at church. When it snows in the Ozarks, things just shut down. Too hilly!!
The sun came out in the afternoon. Still not sure how much snow we have .. no more than 6 inches, I don't think.
Someone cleared the snow on our front walk. I have no idea who did it because our next door neighbor is in Florida. The other neighbor may have done it .. but it seems to be the one living down at the end and I don't even know who that is!
Funnier yet: I don't know how much snow was there. Shouldn't have been much since that area is protected. NICE, just the same!
Now to clear the way to the car!
Kayak.. which made me think again about the guy who cleared your roof. He was an absolute angel! I hope you have his contact info!
Have a great evening, everyone!
Hiker .. glad you had a great day at the library!
Where's Lisa?

hi all, today WARM at 19degrees!!! too cold to do much, so stayin ginside pretty much.it's bee in the negative numbers and single digits here pretty much for several days.
had a bad weekend. cleaned all day sat and ran myself ragged.
just been in a dark place lately. not feeling too great. lots of too much thinking and all that. depressing.
I love the snow though. love to look out and enjoy it. lots of birds this year.
wind other night kept us up all night. 50+ MPH. with every gust the dog freaked out. felt and sounded like the siding was coming off the house.
so nice to have a cleaned up house.

OK able to kind of fill in food menu for past 3 days. Did not get enough to eat again.
Frustrated because I sent caregiver to get pre made salads for me to last a wwek. She came back with 4 which will last 2 days.
It also took her an hour and half or more. ONce again she had excues as to why it took her so long.
But, it is on her own time unless she wants to argue the point which i do not think she will.
She has done this in the past..went to get groceries and not show up for 2 or 3 hours.
Still un decided on what to do..know i need to ask for another caregiver but concerned other one will be worse.
I feel ok wiht this one being in the house and being around here. But, her work is being effccted because she manages a 40 unit trailer park, works full time plus at a circle k at night and then works 35 hours a week as a caregiver.
What now.
Also able to find the lyme tap paper work and my SS proof of income. Need to make copy of SS papers.
Have bag packed with water for rosie and i and the ear protection muffs.
woke at 4:30 am and got up a couple times in the middle of the night last night.
wondering when to take the excedrin..trying to hold out on it in order to take it before heading down the hill.
also wondering about taking the claritin. it has helped me be able to be on my feet longer when i go on the hikes with the dog park friend...twice now
wondering if it would help me get to the dcotr's.
high anxiety today.
Wishing I had made the appointment for first thing in the am so the traffic would not effect me.
I need open, quiet roads
CAt keeps jumping around on the bed..do not like cat this am...which shows me health is low when patients is low
Need to check bank balance to see what is left in checking as I am not sure how much this visit is going to cost.
I know what the office visit fee is.
maybe i should have some bedtime tea too to help calm me down...i can't recall if that helpe din the past or not.
taking the excedrin might help with pressure in brain

sent email to director telling her that a friend rented a van for me even after I told her the priority was a comforterable car that had no road noise and where i could sit in the passenger seat and put my feet up.
And how the van was too much for my health to handle and how i vomitted and had the runs when I tried to lay donw in the back and how it was like going over rail road tracks.
I did not tell her how we had to stop and get a hotel and wait over night for my health to improve before we could get on the road again.
I did tell her I successfully made the trip in my pathfinder in the passenger seat twice.
but that at sunrise when there was no traffic. Traffic is too much for me too. And heat...but we should be OK this trip heat wise
Althugh I hear it is 80 degrees in the valley.

Tuesday-Cold here for lower Alabama, 31 and going to get colder tonight. I shouldn't complain compared to what you all are having to deal with.
It's 9:00 a.m. and I already finished most of my work here at the dealership. Might have to find something else to do.
Tonight after work just planning on sautéing leftover ham and leftover potatoes together then adding some eggs. So we're having breakfast for dinner tonight. Also will try to do one load of laundry.
I'm going to count that as exercise until my knee gets better.
BTW, just wanted to wish you luck Kam on your LLMD appointment.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

OK all ready to go with the exception of needing to check bank acct balance and something else which i cna not recall right now
i have all my things in the power chair seat by the front door.
not taking power chair as it will not fit
8:16 now they are coming in 47 min
i plan to lay here and try and recover
going against normal thinking again...lady wanted me to take a something and lay down in the very back seat of the van even though i had said what i needed was no fragance, to be able to recline in passenger seat and be able to wear my ear plugs and ear protection muffs
they wanted me to take something and lay down in back seat of van..i have tried this...twice...ended up having to get a hotel both times as too sick to travel
peope think normal with this disease...m have a new normal
anothe rlady mentioned how if i hike a little twice a week how i could build up my hiking..again she is thinking normal...been there tried that too
typing with yeyes closed.
recalled what the ohter thing was...to print out directions again if i am up to it..but i think they have all ready done this so ok if i am not up to it
took several tries before health was up to being able to copy my ss ltr but got er done finally

It is currently 32 and sunny.
Winter finally arrived here. You can have it back, kayak!

I am going to jump in the shower in a few minutes and that will make me feel better about life.
I also played the pianl today for like 20 min. that is always a mental workout for me. and fingers too. I just put on my list to get piano tuned with my tax return $$. hasn't been tuned in years and starting to sound really bad.

Let's see what i remember...
left at 9 am
got back home at 3 pm
health wise did well
lady who drove me was someone i felt comfortable with and had her come in with me to talk with doc
doc had a lot of lyme books on her bookshelves...hoping to cehck those out again when i go back
i recall blood being drawn for igenex....was told medicare would pay for igenex testing
confusion agaon on having Phoenix healht plan as a advantage plan with medicare
told co pay would be higher on one thing ...same thing pt told me...cheaper with just straight medicare....
doe snot make ssnese
but things will get sorted out in time
came home with a very large container of charcoal..looks like enough for a year or three years supply...did not think well on my feet or sitting down in regards to decisions
have not read what i am to do with the charcoal..i recall the doctor telling me but not able to take it in
doc wanted more testing for different things i can not reacll...kind of went thru the list and said no i will neeed to start putting money away for that test and yes i have the funds to do that test
i did not check my checking acct before i went so not sure if i have any funds left in account after today.
i am to go back next week with a urine sample and something about poop..i have a poop test kit with me and something about more blood work and fasting
instructions were written down for me
like doctor...my main concern was my lack of funds and if she would work with what i had...looks like she is willing to do this
she said she would like me to go on abx but will build up my system first
also something about nutritonal IV
Hmm...recall more thatn I thought.
I have a binder to read that was given to me when I arrived
thought b vitamins were the reason brain is not working so well...
But, wants to see blood test results foirst
Purcahsed LDN while I was there...can not recall what that is supposed to help with but know it was on my list of things to try...have yet to read lable on it
able to listen to drive rafter the apppointment..she had intersting things to say...but started not feeling well just from teh shor tconversation so had to put ear plugs in and earp protection muffs and take excedrin to get home
wondering if she had talked to me while we were sitting still if it would have worked better vs driving down a busy street...brain struggles so with over stimulus
she signed the lyme tap app but did not think we would need it as medicare covered the testing she wanted to do with igenex
i know there is more
but i would call the trip a success
suprised health held out as long as it did
not sure what i was saying most of the time but no one seemed confused so i guess it made sense
she mentioned two different b vitamins ...kind of sounded like i would be taking them orally
i think she said i could order them on line and the office would be emailing me the info
i did see i had an email i think from her office..but waiting to read it after i recover
AZ weather is really nice this time of the year and the highway and roads we traveled were in a really nice area...great scenary from pines to saguara to other cactus
doc said she would do her homework and then let me know what she thought we should start with..not so much in those words but that is how i processed it
fungus was mentioned, mold, lyme, can not recall what she said about the dry cough i get..maybe that she thought it was a fungus thing...
lady from senior center said they would drive me next week to appointment too..either her or the director..not sure why this is happening but thankful senior center is doing this now...do not know how long it will last as i heard director is retiring in april
Lady who was driving me gave me the months to avoid going to the valley but I can not recall now...due to heat
Hoping most visits can be face time or skype..but next visit is more blood work and fasting from midnight on
one lady in the office who was in charge of going over things with me was not possible for me to understand...
but she said jsut atke in the visula and read the directions when able
hope this makes sense
the lady who drove me talked about an organization that will put your medical records on a doohicky...so doc just need sto plug it into the computer or whoever wants to see them
price was very reasonable too
if interested i will ask Pam wh the company is that is doing this
i have been taking b vitamins so i will be interested in which ones she suggests
i also recall her suggesting a certain brand of probiotics and why she felt i needed to take them ..what it would help with
it was a brand i took when i first started taking abx
i take the b dots from vitacost currently the ones that melt under your tongue
mycotoxins were mentioned but i thin it was one of the tests i would nee dto put money away in order to take
she asked if i had been tested for bartonella..i told her that the lyme doc just went by sytmpoms as i di dnto have the funds for testing back then..not sure if taht is something that will be covered with igenex and medicare now
A person did something with me with a large mouse to do some kind of testing...i was told the results but as far as taking in waht was said...my brain is not recalling
the sme person also did some other kidn of testing where i laid on the bed and they plugged wires to me...can't recall what the results were of thst either
assuming i have the apper work on these things
i know i was given paper work while in the doc's office and th eclerks did a 3 hole punch and put it in my binder i had been given so assuming that is the resutls of the testing for that
I am guessing we got there at 10:30 am and left at 1:30 pm...they were busy with me the whole time and got me in right away
She asked about being sensetive to cleanign products etc ...maybe this is where the probiotics came in to help...not really sure
i take kefir now and good belly drink probiotics
she asked me about the ringing in the ears but do not think i asked about what to do to help with that..just recall telling her i can't go to sleep at night unless i stream a netflix movie or watch tv because the ringing is to loud
I pretty much had what i needed with me with the exception of a water bowl for rosie..i thought the container i had goten from the vet would work but something was broke in it
the office provided rosie water

Checked the drops I have for the B supplement and it is for B12. I do not think the doctor mentioned that one. It seemed it was B1 and one other B vitamin she mentioned.

still organizing papers today. I hope I can get this all done. I am so tired of it.
doing taxes really showed me where I make (little) money and where I do not. so for that I am grateful. I need to make some changes.

Im trying to keep doing stuff. More snow tonight and sunday. I paid some bills, lined up guy to come clear out entrances and windows and propane tank before tonight
When prescription is ready i will venture out to get it, mail income tax and make some copies for my reorganizing paperwork project. Probably pick up a few groceries too
Hopefully moving around will change my mood and i will get excited about some indoor projects

I forgot the cleaning lady was coming today. I left her the check, but forgot to pick up all sorts of stuff I don't like to leave laying around.
I trust her completely, but the more stuff laying out the less deep cleaning gets done. My fault.
Stressful work day. Kids getting lazy. Helicopter parents driving me nuts.
Rode the exercise bike for 20 minutes. Am counting the 10 minutes it took for me to sweep the snow off the drive and porch, too.
Really cold here.

I always hide my supps and meds when workers are in house. It eas exhusting when house was workrd on. But i was afraid word would get out i had narcotics...even tho i dont. I dont think ibuprofen brings much on the street but didnt want the word out i had pills in here
And red root and artemesia cut and dried look a lot like pot
My little girl was acting foolish too...shoveling snow over her head and not getting it where it needed to go
A lot of ppl are a little crazy here. I heard many more collapses...big ones...apt buildings etc
The roof guy came and i didnt recognize him cuz he shaved and didnt have his waders on. He did a lot of work in half an hour. So i am a little more opened up
And i did some errands but didnt get my armour
At least no wind tonight and not below zero
Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
kayak .. You need to let the girl know what you expect. You cannot take the stress of babysitting her.
Pretend she is one of your students.
Posted by lpkayak (Member # 5230) on :
Im done teachin. i tell them what i need..i give clear directions... If they mess around i dont call them back
I am glad i found this roof guy...hes a mason in the summer so hes very strong...but....i am sort of wondering if he took something to make him stronger
But so far so good. And spring will come.
The two kids i wont use anymore this year i will try again next year. But its not worth the stress . I need them to work on their own
Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
Exactly. You don't need the stress.
Hiker .. it's funny that both of us forgot the cleaning lady was coming. I never forget!! Of course, I'm just now getting used to having one again.
Thankfully, my house was not terribly cluttered. Just the stupid bar and I cleaned it while she was here. I need to work on it some more.
It's really large and so tempting to put papers there, and magazines, and hats, and stuff for church, and ....

Able to spend est 15 min in grocery store so have food for the next few days.
Able to fill out housing paper owrk...some of it..still have some things to do ...then i will get it in the mail
Bad mood today but need to talk to myself...healthy self...you are not doing well today you need to lay down and get better
Lyme Self..you are doing well...hang in there...rest a bit and then see what else you can do
Also able to get a couple of copies of proof of income to apartment manager but noticed they have changed my name again so need to contact them with correct spelling
one paper has the correct name...the other does not..always makes me concerned as there are two people with the same name living in my town
but the address should help them get it right??
Took excedrin and claritin this am. Need to get up now and meet friend to try and be on the trail a bit...really need to lay down some more.
hoping to read what you all have been up to later
Trying to change attitude about the paper work thing for housing from anger to being thankful which is more appropriate

She also asked me if i had allergies and then did something to a tree in the area and a cloud of red flour like dust filled the air...big time pollen
i was impressed and what to see it again. wondering if it would show up in a picture..worth trying to take one
Took claritin before the hike. Ate the greek salad for breakfast and now am stuffed up and have allergy like symptoms
want to do something aroun dhere but heath is too low...might just get in power chai rand head out of the apartment for a bit just to get outside..can't sit uprigh tfor long so it will be short

Im psycing myself up to move. Its still warm here(17) for two more hours when front comes thru
We got four i.ches...not really worth paying plow guy except we have rainy mess coming and if it rains on snow and then quick freezes it will be 4-6 " ice and taske forever to go away
So im going to use push shovel...i dont use arms much with it...and try to clear important parts
Its suppised to be very windy and cold for two days startung at 3 pm. I ll come back in then and hope a lot of snow is blown off house before rain...if not i llhave toget as much off as i can
The zoning compliance guy woke me up to see what neighbor is doing to my fence. He was very nice and told me the neighbor was not allowed to put snow on my yard or bre as k fence. He hasnt done anyting more with machines since cops t as lked to him. I just want this togo away. I hate working with lawyers. But we wont know if fence is damaged til snow melts

OK I have the paper work in for rent...i believe the ball is now in the others court.
I know I did not get everything filled out or copied due to neuro but at least I have the ball rolling on it.
I looked on line for housing to purchase and noticed if i had the down payment needed, I could own my own home for about $100 more or so than I am paying now.
There were only two homes listed in the city limits ...both were repossed tailers or whatever it is called prefab homes.
One is close to the apartments so will drive by.
Guessing both are fixer uppers. But, it is nice just to look. I do not have the down payment and do not want to live na atrailer like dweellling I think.
Unless it is located on some land wiht a view

Interesting what willow or zillow shoed as rent value on both pieces of propety..twice what the payment would be on the property.
guessing that is not realistic rent value...actually kind of know as i have been looking for homes to rent so kind of have an idea what homes rent for

Kam.. the stuffy nose after eating is likely a histamine response. I hope you aren't headed down that path too. It's not fun.
kayak and hiker... yes, the PSSD or PCSD sounds about right. It was -5 in the nearby city .. not sure how cold here. Maybe 5 degrees or less. High of 30 today.

Thursday-I'm going to count getting up, dressed and at work as exercise today.
Couldn't sleep until after 3 a.m. and had to get up at 6:30.
Was planning on going to the museum tonight for jazz and a poetry reading but am struggling to stay awake.
BTW, you guys made me laugh with the PSSD and PCSD's.

Shoot. I replied and lost it. Basically saud i hurt and put call into roofer snow guy but he hasnt gotten back. Everything is caving in fromsnow. They are paying all these guys to get on roof...and they are falling thru skylights and stuff. ITS REALLY HARD TO GET...oops...anyone to work
I did some cleaning up of bexroom this morning. I have had it closed off...bed holds clean laundry waiting to be put away....its so cold in there i havent slept there in a long time. No pipes near that room so i can close it off and not worry
Then after shiveling and long hot sit down shower i did some work on papers. I thinki have a way that at the end of month i really know how much i spent and have receipts for taxes all organized
Probably snuggle down and watch tv soon. Its still pretty warm outside. 21 i think. But very windy and as soon i i take snow off roof its harder to keep house warm. Snow insulates really well
Kam...i want you to have a nice place to live but a lot of things can go wrong with a house. Be careful.
And yes...i can picture that apron. Cute!

6 am got up. But cat woke me up several times efore i got up...even attacking my hair on my head to try and get me to get up.
as soon as i got up she wanted out doors
made some detox tea. tried to find the paper work on the meds via mail or on line but wasn't doing well enough to do so so laying back down.
not able to read your posts this am either.
guess the next step is to get back up and take a couple of excedrin to see if htat helps me be able to get dresssed and take rosie out to toilet
wanted to take a shower last night but wasn't able..hoping i am able to this am...boey is sticky.
legs are white and pasty...rare i even care about that but ti was hot out yesterday and i am considering putting shorts on today
not that i will be able to be in the sun for longer than 5 or 10 min but if i could do that several times today that would e good as fi cruise around in the power chair
good news. a guy that works at pride mobility is sending me the motor for my small power chair.
this is the one i use in the apartment and goes on my lift so i can go to the store, etc or just cruise in the undeveloped area i like to go with rosie
now i need to contact the local mobility store to see how much it will cost to have them put the motor on and also how much it will be to get the small tires on the back of the power chair...poiwer chair is a 6 wheeler
need big ires for the large power chair too but not concerned about that...they are just bald....
small tires on small power chair look like they are going to fall apart...if they do..i would not be able to use power chair.it would not go

Friday-Feeling sick today. Starting to get flu or something that's going around work. Surprises me because I've been on Doxy for about a month now.
Got plenty of rest last night and have a big weekend planned.
Tonight me and my Mom are going to the ballet to see Swan Lake. I'm so excited! Get to spend quality time with my Mom and have never been to a ballet before.
Then Saturday I'm taking my Mom to Emory Hospital in Atlanta tomorrow for an MRI and afterwards we're going to an international market for some groceries.
So hope my health holds out for all the fun!
See you all later!

At dark yesterday there was less than 8" fluffy snow. All new. But wind is blowing crazy for two days and that can make high drift on house(or no snow on house...what im praying for)
Cuz sat-sun we get six inches wet snow/sleet/rain mix and if rhat falls on dry snow it gets real heavy....dangerous
I might pull some more off today and tomorrow but im scared to walk to far side of house

Posted by kam (Member # 3410) on :
Althought I have been living with this a long time I still get amazed at how the brain will work for one thing and not another.
Able to take a shower. Have yet to get dressed but am enjoying being clean.
Able to put some hanging files in new metal file small portable cabinet. Figured I needed something in case the sprinklers go off in my apartment to keep things dry.
Able to write on about 4 tabs before brain went...it was a struggle on each tab..weird.
I have yet to set up a filing system since health went south. But, think I can do what I can when I can now to get one set up.
CAregiver cleaned up in kitchen and vacuumed and made a pitcher of the lemon/cucumber drink...about the only thing that hydrates me so good to have that
Caregiver was late again today...an hour...but I think she also put in more than an hour this am
I like her but need to seperate my concern for her over doing it in her own life and how it overflows to my life....just with scheduling and not being here and effects of her work.
Bottom line is I would rather have her than someone else as the ones before her were not do able.
Posted by kam (Member # 3410) on :
Almost 11 am. I think I am pretty much done what I can this am...with the exception of getting dressed when able.
We shall see.
But, feels good to have things that stress me done..kind of..still need to sign paper work for housing when they have it ready. Not sure what the deadline is for them getting things done.
Posted by kam (Member # 3410) on :
Also waiting to see if I am approved for a power chair...I hear that process takes months
And see if the meds come in the mail this time
And need to read the paper work for the lyme doc re; the two tests I need to do for next appt
and follow thru on driver
What else?? rest your brain kam..you did good. Eat after resting.

Just got back from massage therapy. She did some craniosacral work too.
Kayak-You be careful out there in the snow and ice! BTW, is that elderberry pills or tea? I'm going to Vitamin Shoppe Saturday to pick up some berberine, bilberry and bromelain so I'll pick up some elderberry too while I'm at it.
Kam-I'm dreaming of downsizing! I can't manage the doublewide and almost 4 acres we have. It's gone to pot since I started working full time. I'd like a condo or apartment so I don't have to do so much work.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Posted by lpkayak (Member # 5230) on :
THe elderberry that works for me is a syrup called sambucal
I dont usually do sugar but once when really sick i had to use it and it made me better and didnt hurt me
The other way i get it is in drops i put in greentea. Both work good for me

Ran into another parked car while out this afternoon.
Hit it with my power chair lift. Broke a plastic thing on top of the bumper.
Person I hit was a young person and would not get off of the phone. She kept making phone calls.
I got tired of waiting for her to stop using the phone. I did hear her call the police and that they said just to exchange information.
That was about the 5th phone call she made.
I walked over to give her my information. She stil would not get off the phone but did take the time to insult me ..asking me if I should even be driving and why did not not turn this way or that way when backing out.
I just drove off.
Went to insurance company to see if I was covered. Learned I was but that I also can pay cash if I want for the damages.
Then went to the body shop to see what it would cost. I took a picture of her license plate and the damage.
On the way home, the police stopped me. They did a drunk driver check as the young teen called in to the police and said I just came out of the Buffalo Bar and Grill and was drunk as a skunk.
They could see I was not drunk but I did have trouble with the eye test thing ...following the pen without moving my face I guess.
He got mad at me. But, after several tries he let me go.
Threated to take me to the police station and do a breath test. I told him I was fine with that as I do not drink.
Maybe I should just let the insurance cover this or deal with this as she is trouble.
I told her I could not be on my feet for long and usually use a power chair to get around.
But, I was reminded that it is better for me to just do what I am going to do first thing in the morning as I function better then.
I did not get to tell her I was sorry for hitting her car.
Body is shaking now. Can't imagine what it would be like to really be in an accident.
Damage done to her car was not something that really needed fixing but that is up to her.
She took a picture of my license plate number after I took a picture of hers.
Glad I kept my cool. I really dislike people who have phones glued to their ears. Very rude.
You would think that somethign like this would be cause to get off of the phone.
Posted by kam (Member # 3410) on :
AS I left one officer asked the other officer is the person had called in about me hitting her parked car.
He said no just the drunk driving.

Kam--what a bummer. Lady sounds nasty.
TGIF. Went to energy healer. Then to the grocery store as snow is moving in tonight and I don't want to deal with shopping in it tomorrow.
A cousin I have not seen in 40 e-mailed and said he would be in town this weekend. I guess we may meet up, but I really did not like him when I was a child nor the way he treated my mom and uncle as an adult.
Time to go read.

Oh wow... Just got home from a gig across town .. Thought we would not have trouble getting home since the radar looked good at 3 pm when we left. (hahaha)
So the gig was from 5:30 to 6:30 .. and around 7pm it begins POURING DOWN rain and sleet and whatever else was up there .. complete with THUNDER AND LIGHTNING.
Hubby got it all loaded somehow and was soaking wet when he got through. Walking to the car was tricky.
The ride home was even worse but we made it in about 15 minutes. It was hovering around 30-32 degrees the whole time. My phone said it was 28 degrees. I'm glad it was wrong... at least I hope it was wrong.
But the main thing is we are home safe and sound. Now just praying it doesn't ice so much that we lose power.
**editing to add .. the Weather Channel says it is 28 degrees**
EEK!

Wow tutu. Glad your ok. The news eas full of awful things from.weather. so much cold where your not set up for it makes it basically impossibe. And i guess until you experience it once youjust dont understand how important it is to sty off roads
Kam. You sure did good keeping your cool. What an awful thing to have happen
I friend with lyme went to airport soon after 9/11 the safty guys started yelling at him to do stuff and he couldnt understand the directions so the guys just kept yelling louder and it was really hard on him. So many dont have a clue how different disabilities can be. Its a real problemwhen the autirities dont get it either
I got a few things done cooked a few things that will last a week. Made progress with papers. Laundry. Dishes
The neighbor will be home tomorrow so i will tell her when.i go out and she will check me in half hourciff i dont tell her imdone
Im still so sore and have so many pains and such a hard time
standing up.
In about a week the really cild weather should start to change. When the sun is out it really helps warm.up the house

ALW....i often think about going back to having land around me but had not considered the up keep.
I guess it depends on what the terrain is. Here I imagine forest around me and a view.
I must admit it is nice to have a maintence person on site to fix things now and then...like when the kitchen lights kept going out...he put in a new thing a my gig...flourescent lights.
I could not have climbed on a latter and put them in.
Tutu...glad you made it home safely.
Woke at 2:30 am thinking about the young cop giving me the eye test. Even when he was giving it to me I kept thinking the doctor's don't move the pen out of the line of vision when they do the test.
He moved it too far to the let or right.
I wish I had realized that at the time and told him the doctor's have doen this test with me and they do not move it so far to the left or right where it is no longer in site and expect me to hold my eyes to the left or right until he decides to move the pen back where it is in site again.

I had a bad night. I havent done hard physical work in so long but my knee and shoulder got way worse. My knee cap kept moving away from.where it should be and got stuck and hurt really bad til i popped it back. And shoulder did something similar
I guess i moved a little in my sleep and then.woke up in bad pain
I had taken as much meds as i could too
Becsuse of that i didnt dare go out to do roof. It was -1 and if i fell no one would see me
I cant get any helpers. All are hurt or working on collapsing buildings. But i did get in truck and drive out to road where i can see side roof where it piles up and there was hardly any therr. Imjust gonna try to relax and just get thru this
Even in the house i cant move enough to pick up messes. I have the energy to empty dryer and fold but cant get clothes where they belong
Or i create really good filing system...but it takes 3 days and papers are out in piles til.im.done
I just have to "let it go" as they say...it has to get better soon.
I found a few professional organizers locally. If i wasnt saving forvacation with kids i moght pay one to help. But cant do that for awhile
So again im.cuddled down with a book.
Tutu...i hopeyou are ok and didnt lose power
Ak you never mention the weather but on tv it looks like bad thinks are happening down there
Everyone stay warm and safe!

Kam--A house is so much work. Yesterday when the garage door would not shut, I knew exactly how to fix the remote,
but I can't balance on a ladder and use a screwdriver at the same time.
So, I had to call a neighbor at 7 A.M. to do it just so I could go to work and not leave the door open all day.
Tutu--winter is getting old. We were supposed to get 5 inches, but fortunately got much less and I could clear the drive easily this morning.
My cousin, Jim, whom I have not seen in 40 years is coming tonight. I understand he is quite the gabber.
My dad said he does not drink alcohol, coffee, tea, soft drinks, so I don't have much to offer him. Dad said water would be fine and when he leaves I might want something a lot stronger.
I had to chuckle at that.
I only am going to ride the exercise bike a short time, since I got some minutes clearing the snow. I will meet my exercise goal of 125 minutes per week again.
Hiker53 Posted by Lymetoo (Member # 743) on :
Ha, that's funny, hiker!! Hope you can enjoy your visit with the cousin!!
Kayak.. best to lay low for awhile. I hope you don't get too much more snow... Give it a rest, Winter!!
We are fine. It was beautiful this morning on the balcony with icy trees and chirping birds. I stayed long enough to get a video for FB.
Hubby made it to church to do some work. I hope to go out and get my car cleaned off. I haven't driven it in a week.
It's supposed to be in the 40's today and then back to being very cold tomorrow.
Kam made it down to a lake today and she said she's probably down for the day. Glad she was able to get out. She has spring going on over there!

last night I made shrimp po boys for my husbands birthday dinner. got a late start, but was totally worth it. they were out of this world! super yummy. I want to make it for everyone to share in the yummyness. I wish I could do that.
but today my joints are paying for those lovely shrimp.
I did some work on computer today. and cleaned the bathroom some in our room. and some laundry. not much else. too tired now and achy.
kayak, we aer getting more than what they predicted. does that mean you are too? or will you get less I hope.

I spent 2 hrs in the large outdoor power chair this am. Paying for it since.
Can't recall if I took meds both times today or not.
I do recall taking them once.
Wishing I had checked in here. It helps me stay centered?? Feel like I am a bit on the rim of the wagon wheel instead of the center.
Still upset about yesterday. Sent email to police department on rights. Thinking they should have let me sit down to do the pen test and been able to have my back to the sun.
Also what the consequences if any for who ever called in the false call.
Plus the deductible for the fender bender.
Kind of need to focus on the positives instead of feeling so unhealthy today.
But, the lake was nice. I cruised all the way around it. Then had a conversation with a couple of people while there.
I had been invited by a person who moved into the apartments 4 days before the fire.
She was going to do some remote control model sailing. It was relazing watching the boat.
And yes. Lots of trees in blossom and saw some daffodils..I wasn't up to taking pictures when I saw the daffodils.
One of the neighbors said just when she thought she had her ducks in a row someone comes along and kicks them all over the place.
I can relate although my worries are really not something I would even be worried about if health were better.
It will all work out.
Still getting use to be able to communicate with people and trying to figure out the filters..tough explain but do not trust my decisions.
I will do better tomorrow. I will go back to writing on the white board when I took meds.
Suppose to go hiking tomorrow morning. Hope health is doing well enough.
Have not driven car yet. But did test lift and it still is working thankfully.
Lisa..i don't know about you but the joints, bones, muscles and all of that is tricky figuring out what is causing what pain.
Glad you were able to do what you did.
Tutu..spring is coming.
This time of the year is always unsettling waiting to see what the rent is going to be each year.
I really dislike that.

Kam... I think it would be better to let the insurance company go to bat for you.
They will want to protect their own interests.
Sorry you had to go through that and be treated so rudely. Posted by kam (Member # 3410) on :
Woke up still trying to sort things thru my mind.
It is a learning curve most of the time with this. Still hurting from being in the power chair for 2 hours yesterday.
But, at the time I thought I ws doing OK.
Also fell asleep with the head upright a bit on my bed instead of flat so that could be part of the back pain too.
As far as the young girl not communicating with me and not getting off of her phone and making all the calls...still trying to figure out how she came up with me being drunk.
I thought I was walking OK. I only got out of the car to take a picture of the damage and of her license plate and then to give her my info which would not take and was still talking on the phone.
She acted like I was not there. Invisiable. So when I went to hand her my info she ingnored that so I put it under her windshield wipers.
Best case is I wasn't walking on my feet as welll as I thought.
And I do need to wait until the power chair is fixed before I try and walk int and out of a store that does not have elec carts.
I guess. Still not sure about what I could have done differently.
I told the young person I could not be on my feet. I had a lift for a power chair on the back of my car.
Same with police.
But, still trying to recover from the incident.
Odds are it will not happen again or anything like it but just in case trying to figure out what to do.
I did send an email to the police as they made things worse. A neighbor ws driving by and whle they had stopped me and were testing me with the pen.
She said she wanted to stop and yelll at them as she knew me and knew I was not a drunk driver and they were getting in my face when she was driving by..but she thought it would make things worse.
As far as cost...my deductible might be more than what it would cost to have the insurance pay for it so that is just a wait and see.
I do not know what my deductible is. And I am not up to finding out know.
Mostly I do not like health being like this.
And would like to be able to let the young person know...one...it was very rude of her to be on the phone from the time she came out of the store and until I left and it would have been a good idea to put the phone down...maybe..unless she had a mouth on her which it looked like she did.
2. the calling in to say i was coming out of a local bar...ok..now that I am typing this it is good she was on the phone as guessing the words that would have come out of her mouth would have made things worse
Got to get up and put some of that spray on my back.

Good news is I was able to get up look in the usual spots for the intense muscle spray ..when it was not there...able to recall where is aw it last.
really like it when that happens. able to be on feet to get it from the car...one would think i was drunk i suppose or just notice it was diffictul for me to be on my feet this am
took 2 excedrin also. need to get back up and write it on the white board so i can keep track of meds today.
trying to let the fender bender go but still wake up out of sorts because of it...this is not me...or wasn't before the health went south.
ran into two not very nice people which made things worse but also ran into two nice people
Hate health is a constant learning curve
still not sure i am ready to get in the car again..but mostly because of pain in body...need to wait it out until that is doing better.
need to get gas in car.
need a local friend which i was trying to make friends yesterday by going to the lake
also have the dog park friend who i have been able to go on a few walks with but again adjusting to health is tricky and accepting it is even more tricky
but i know getting out to be around people is a good thing and even better becaue health is able to do these things now which i have not been able to do for a very long time and it depends on who i am around
i find myself even getting angry in my mind wiht the person i am around but know it is not them but my health
So I will keep trying and keep trying to stay tuned into my health needs and listen to my body.

excedrin and intense muscle spry is not taking away the pain which is too much too think straight.
dog let me knwo i had not fed her with her help bark and cat let me know with her mewing...but funny thing about the cat..she had food in her dish...she just likes me to go thru the routine at the same time
so cat and dog fed
trying to figure otu what i can do
i did take rosie out to toilet..that made health worse.
or pain in this case
so...i guess next step is to get dress and try and go out to be on the forest trail this am with dog aprk buddy
it seems i neve rknow until i try if i can do it
there has been tiesm when just getting my boots on was too much and i thought iw ould not be able to do it..but once i ws there i was ok...
so i try and get there at least

helps me to think via the keyboard so glad this thread is here
just realized she is coming in less than 30 min and i am very dehydrated too
Posted by kam (Member # 3410) on :
Also thinking the person who went in to get the person whose car i bumped into might have told her a drunk driver hit her car and that is why she came out of the store with a conclusion all ready
i do not know how well i was doing on my feet when i parked the car and got out to see if i had done any damage

OK. Made it to the forest trail. Wore my coat over my pj's. Getting dreessed was out. utting on hiking boots was out.
Like my hiking buddy. She siad who cares when she saw me in my pj's.
And that even if it is only 5 min i am able to be on the trail that is ok. she will take her dog to a public area to finish her morning walk with piney.
WE talked about you guys in the snow. She said she had a student who went to feed the livestock in the barn and froze to death.
He was in junior high. Had been feeding the livestock in all kinds of weeather. This trip done him in.
So be careful as I know you all are.
Stopped to get gas but had left purse at home so will try tomorrow am to get gas.
FRiend stopped and told me it was cheaper accros the way.
kBut, what she odesn't knowis I have tried that gas station and get confused.
Better to stick to the routine of things that I know works.
I even try to pull up at the same pump each time.
Turned out it was only 1 cent cheaper across the way
REally weak an dhurting on the trail but good to be out there. Good for ones health.
I decided the home that is going up in that area is for me. Nice of them to build me a home there.
I'll have to ask them when I can move in.
They were even working on it today.

It is hurting health wise to try and make friends. But, at least I am getting to the point where I can.
I will manage thngs the best I can. A learning curve as it has been all a long.

What I still can not figure out is why we have the place to ourselves while out at the end of phoenix street area.
There use to always be cars there when I walked that trail way back when I was able.
I know I am in and out in about 10 min but that is what it iwas like before.
Maybe beecause it is winter?? But, I recall walking in the rain in the past and there still being people on the trail..maybe it was the monsoon rain in the summer??

Not complaining. Like having the trail to myself. Do not need to worry about unfriendly dogs or people

doing better this am so far. still in pj's but seem to be ok as long as i lie here.
sorted things out that i was blindsided with
fear is less
ate and took meds, an hour later ate some more and took b12 drops
tried to go into doctor's web site to see about the B1 vitamins but it led me to another site which i needed to sign up with and remember to do a few things to link me to the doctor
brain was not doing well enough for that so i will try again later
cat is ..wel...sticking close to me
dog always sticks close to me
cold in the house but elec bill was twice what i would like it to be so staying under covers and dressing warmer
ran heater more than usual when i first came back just because it was nice to have whatever kind of heating i have here..one with a thermostat that keeps apartment at a certain temp compared to the wall heater at hotel that kept things either too hot or too cold.
got a nice note from tutu. that helped too.
thanks for thinking of me tutu
still have the fear in the gut but may be just cold and hungry. HA!
