"Charles" is a former Lyme Program Officer at NIH. He was removed from his post in the mid 90's for harassing Lyme activists.
His real name is Dr Edward McSweegan PhD, and he is the person who was responsible for allocating millions of dollars of grant money to Steere and his henchmen in the early 1990's.
He also helped manipulate various prestigious medical bodies in the US to make sure they all conformed to the Steere camp line on LD.
He was also centrally involved in promoting the dangerous Lymerix vaccine.
He also writes science fiction , (I guess that's why he was made Lyme program officer).
Oh, - he's also a biowarfare expert,worked for the State Department in the 1980's as a scientist - diplomat (!), and stalked the director of the Lyme Disease Foundation in the 1990's (literally).
At the moment his favourite hobbies are conspiring to frame LLMDs, doing whatever he can to harm Kathleen Dickson (who exposed many evildoings of him and his Steerite friends), and issuing me with death threats (for similar reasons). When he is not doing the above, he is busy posting messages about how "fun" and "thrilling" it is to kill children in war (seriously), and telling the entire Lyme community that **they** are insane.
In short - just the kind of guy you'd love to meet down some dark alley one night. Not.

chuck seems to have spent his entire life DEFENDING against EVER being hurt again, as seems apparently manifest.
Transcendental meditation to arrest it,seems in order, and its gonna be rough facing that which comes up from the dark within; it'll be a rough ride,IFF,allowed to be viewed, but that original hurt can be healed. The scar of the original hurt can be dissolved with the metaphoric enzyme-containing "honey bee venom" of one's choosing. No drugs,legal, or illegal, otc, or prescribed to "close the door" on the original hurt; and no usimg TM ITSSELF, to stuff it.

On average, its takes 2-4 years, but it can be done.

I feel there are people here who are very fragile emotionally both because of their disease but also (perhaps even more so) because of the way mainstream medicine, and consequently friends, families, employers etc rejects them and denies their illness. Chuck's "humour" is the kind that can tip such a person over the line from just coping to suicide.
Just a few days ago a woman here became worse and posted that she no longer knew if she had Lyme or was just crazy. Fortunately some of the regular members got to her with comfort and advice, before chuck did with his "humour".
In the past, when new people blundered into the swamp that "Chuck", Nowakowski etc crated in sci-med, referring them here might have been a good idea.
But as Chuck is being allowed to run rampage here, and has also marshalled a small army of more subtle false aliases to help him throw mud at our good doctors and labs, pretty soon this group will look like sci-med and there will be nowhere for anyone to go for support and correct information.
I am tired of begging the moderator to kick chuck off. People seem to think that because this is the internet, we must allow any kind of behaviour no matter how hurtful it is to us. Imagine if LymeNet was a support group in the real world, not a virtual one.
Imagine we are all sitting around in a meeting hall or someone's home, and Chuck walks in and starts acting the way he does. Imagine you were chairing the meeting. Would you allow him to continue to sit among us and insult everyone in the room?
Or would you call the police to eject him?
And how would you feel if the police washed their hands and everyone had to continue the meeting with him jeering at their suffering?
I dare say Chuck does not have the guts to come and do that in a real physical meeting. I dare say that even some sick Lymies might somehow muster the energy to give his cranium, and the sidewalk, a real physical meeting. But here in cyberspace, hiding behind his false name, he can rest without fear.

Ya know, this is a guy who speaks with 'forked tongue'. He tried to play nice around here at first, and as I said in another post, I even suffered the wrath of lymerayja to allow him to post his OT topics and have innocuous discussions. But knowing of his reputation elsewhere I knew it was a matter of time that he would slip out from underneath the radar detector and start to behave badly.
No, a different viewpoint or opinion doesn't make one a troll, Chuck. But to be quite honest, you don't exactly handle a differing opinion with grace and style. I have observed you in action at scimed, and you are, what some might call, verbally abusive to posters that hold a different opinion from yours.

As you have Lyme disease, can you please share what you have done to treat it? You appear to be of the opinion that Lyme disease is a hard to catch and easy to cure ailment. If this is true in your case, what draws you back to Lyme disease discussion boards when you are cured? Especially your posts are usually critical of patients and LLMDs alike and do not offer support or even your own experience as to what has cured you apparently so easily and quickly.
